The best restaurants in Hoyland Milton Barnsley Yorkshire and The Humber

A genuine local community pub. Great service, friendly cosy atmosphere. Only drawback is, no cask ales; but despite the name that seems to be the norm with Craft Union pubs.

We visited The Tavern for an evening meal for a large group. The staff were amazing with such a big order and were very friendly and accommodating. They were very dog friendly and had some really good gluten free options (steak pie to name one which was delicious). Due to the large table and our food taking a bit longer than the average order, (understandably with a table of 15) we were given Prosecco on the house for the group to celebrate a members birthday which was an extra special touch that was much appreciated. A great atmosphere and we highly recommend!

Lovely little pub. Enjoyed Christmas Fayre with family, friendly and attentive staff even with a big table. Great food. Would definitely recommend.

An excellent takeaway of crispy beef, Singapore rice and mixed Sweet & Sour. Fresh and not greasy, complimentary prawn crackers. Prompt service for collection.

Me and my daughter came for for Christmas day Dinner and we couldn't have asked for a better day. The food was excellent and the service was second to none. Will definitely be returning again in the new year

Can honestly say the best jacket potato I have tasted in a while. The salad was crisp and fresh, and the lattes were amazing. Forge coffee from Sheffield, so keeping it local. The staff was polite, and I had the pleasure of meeting the manager/owner who was a nice bloke to talk to. 100% recommended.

Very very rude and foul mouthed people! They forgot items in my order and when I called to tell them they told me to F#€k off and put the phone down on me! I tried to call them back thinking it must be a mistake but they just continued to give me abuse saying I’m wrong and telling me to go F#€k myself! Food was cold and low quality anyway and we were all ill for a few days after eating it. I wouldn’t feed this food to the rats! Avoid

Food under cooked delivery never on time very greasy

Ate here twice when we visited Lisbon. Beautiful Indian food and lovely service
