Friends look forward to visiting me as i always take them to Connie's, and often call for breakfast, passing three other cafes on the way

After visiting the nearby national coal mining museum last Thursday I had lunch and a couple of pints of real ale. Very friendly staff but disapointing food and beer.

I booked afternoon tea for two for my friends birthday and it did not disappoint. We had four little sandwiches each with various fillings. Four sweet treats and a scone with jam and cream plus unlimited tea and coffee. Lovely food and friendly hard working staff. We had a wander around the farm shop and the animals. For a small fee you can feed the animals. It’s changed a lot since my last visit and definitely worth a visit with children.

Brill customer services from Tom at Costa. What a bantersaurus rex this guy was. Unfortunately he obviously never got his letter for hogwarts as he couldn't muster up a black Forrest frappe spell...but...as he stated it's the only Costa in the county where it's not available (like wow)....I will smite thee wooly edge!!! However tom made up for it with a banger caramel iced frappe with half a ton of caramel, thanks tom...I'm now high af on a major sugar rush...getting no sleep sobbing tears of black Forrest into my pillow. Enjoyed the experience and crap coffee 😉

Use to love this place before it shut down. Since it’s re opened all I’ve had is hassle with the food and delivery service. It’s not worth even ordering anymore as it’s always stone cold when arrive as delivery’s always takes over a hour… really gutted as this was my favourite Chinese but will not be ordering after tonight…..

Fantastic staff, really busy but they made room for us as walk ins. Emily was exceptional as a server, attentive but professional. Very friendly lady. Beautiful food. Sunday Trio amazing.

If you shut the gate at 16:30, that means you shut at 16:30. Either change your ‘OPEN’ hours to 16:30, or shut at 17:00 like it says you go on your google page 👍

Definitely gone downhill since my last visit. Menu doesn't seem to have as much on it as before and it gets a little boring having the same limited menu if you stay for 2 or 3 nights like I did. That said, the onion bhaji starter is really good and so are the hoisin duck pancakes - pity they couldn't make them into main courses ! The pasta dish I had (linguini I think) was very sloppy and tasteless and the hunter's chicken the next night was also poor and bland. Those 2 meals kind of sum up what to expect here unfortunately. Not cheap and not that good.

Coffee is always good but time after time service is slow and inefficient. Over 20 minutes from joining queue to getting drink this morning.

There was zero quiet. Actually had a kid scream in my face. There’s 11 staff i kid you not and things are moving at glacial pace. And yet the one at cedar court near my home has 2 staff and is very fast. The table at the back right is so close to the wall i cant sit behind it and it’s fixed to the ground.

Ordered a takeaway over new year, leaving a review as they can't be bothered to reply to my email complaint had to be the worse takeaway pizza I have ever ordered can't say tasted as 90% of the food went in the bin. Looked like and tasted like they had cooked a batch of Margarita pizzas last month then threw some topping on and a bit of frozen veg and microwaved for 2 minutes and lobbed the thing in a box and delivered it cold. £60 in the bin. Poor service
