The best restaurants serving Brasserie food in England

Shocking.Funky smell in all of restaurant(wotsits) burger had a funny smell.ordered cajun chips just got chips with a few mixed herbs on i've had better frozen food.Rude staff.Miniscule butgers for the price wich is completely absurd wouldn't come back if you payed me to.Awful,woeful,disgraceful,lousy,abismal.

We have been regular customers for several years, but will not be ordering from Amara again after our most recent experience. We ordered a takeout (definitely not cheap!), which we were told would take 20 minutes - but in fact took 40 minutes. The food was luke warm and some items were missing (namely the salad and the ‘mixed vegetables’ with the halloumi kebabs). We rang the restaurant several times to try to rectify this (it is only 5 minutes away) but they hung up on us three times. It is very disappointing as we have experienced some excellent food from Amara over the years, but have to agree with other reviewers that this restaurant is going downhill.

Was empty on arrival which was odd? The service was poor and the food was over cooked and the contents of the sea food platter were reduced to scaps compared to our last visit.

My starter onion bhaji were burnt over done & tasted bitter. The mains came hadn’t even finished the starters! The lamb curry was terrible, sorry to say. Total waste of money. I will not be revisiting this restaurant again.

No estaba seguro de qué esperar de Kalbi, ya que las críticas parecían ser mixtas y cuando llegamos éramos los únicos clientes. Sin embargo, creo que las revisiones deben estar desfasadas y en 20 minutos después de que nos sentáramos, más de la mitad de las mesas estaban llenas. Nunca he hecho una barbacoa coreana antes, pero me pareció una gran experiencia, especialmente durante enero seco. El plato de entrada era muy bueno (había deseado que fuera parte de las recargas) , el arroz bibimbap era fresco y una porción decente, los lados eran realmente buenos y parte de las recargas, y había una gran variedad de carnes ofrecidas. El servicio fue bueno y atento. Nos preguntaban a menudo si nos las arreglábamos para usar la barbacoa y qué recargas nos gustaría, incluso cuando estaba ocupado no nos olvidaban. Sin duda volvería y recomendaría a los amigos.

Had an amazing evening at the Terrace celebrating my 30th birthday with my family and friends. James the owner was so attentive from start to finish and I really appreciated his professionalism. The venue is just the most gorgeous venue in Shrewsbury looking out over the river! Very classy. Thanks to all the team at terrace for the very yummy food and drinks which went down extremely well with all of my guests. Thank you again xxx

We live in the neighbourhood and have been meaning to check out this place. It did NOT disappoint. I had the burger which was great, even though they only cook it through and don't take a temperature unfortunately. My wife had the tacos and they were top notch! I'm mexican and these were the closest thing Ive had to the ones I used to eat back when I lived in Tijuana. I know its not a mexican place but if you want great tacos make your way over here. The staff were great and had great recommendations too. Well done.

Great place for food at the centre of Bolton. Staff were amazing and the food was brilliant. Location is convenient too at the centre of town centre.

I had the beef brisket for £35, which has no go withs, so added chips and a very small mac and cheese, which came to £45 in total. The brisket was dry, chewy and extremely salty. For £45 in Canterbury I’m expecting a spot on meal, which this was not!

Great place to eat and very friendly staff. The only issue I had was the waiters had an old dirty mask around her chin surly this should be removed.

Very authentic food and atmosphere. Our food didn’t come in the order we expected it to be served, be we went with the flow. It was a new experience. Only chopsticks and a spoon, which we are both fine with. There is limited wine option, 5 types includes red, white and a rosè. The cheapest being £39.50 As the restaurant is quite small and gets very busy, making a reservation will be good idea. The staff were very helpful and polite. We will definitely go again.

As a local influencer I know everything there is to know about Pompey. Took my Gran for a couple of drinks and a game of pool but it was a dive of a place. The guy serving wasn’t interested and looked like he didn’t want to be there. When I told him the ladies toilets bog was blocked he said “oh well” - my poor Gran had to use a blocked bog.
