Owner is wonderful, the atmosphere is amazing and the food is perfect. I frequent this place a lot because I know I’ll always leave feeling full and satisfied. 100% recommend if you love hearty meals. Fuzhou fish balls are my favourite for sure.

We stay at the premier inn Stirling City center quote often so we tend to have evening meal and breakfast next door in this establishment. For us there has been a rapid decline over the past few months in every aspect from food quality and customer service from waiting staff just seems to be all staff from the chefs to wait staff walking around with sad faces not wanting to do the job or doing bear minimum. Food quality has declined too, food being turned out cold in the middle, meat on the mix grill not cooked through. If I'm paying £60-£70 for 2 of us to eat I have certain expectations. Breakfast poor continental choice nothing left by 9am everything was bare apart from fresh juice. I was told by staff first come first serve. From my point of view this restaurant has closed the doors to general public to attend to hotel clients and they can't manage to get it right so I won't be supporting this establishment anymore when I stay next door in future I'll go across the road where I know what we need will be attended to.

Disappointed is an understatement. Booked a late afternoon table for two expecting it to be similar in standard to the Dormy restaurant at Gleneagles, sadly it did not deliver. Impressive looking from outside, was greeted at front door and then directed upstairs. Stood about at an empty reception desk, eventually walked into bar area to find a staff member. Restaurant was fairly quiet, the table had superb views over the coast. My partner ordered the cottage pie, I ordered an egg sandwiches and a beetroot, goats cheese salad, plus drinks. Food arrived, asked if we would like same drinks again 'yes please' (a white wine and a coke zero), to be given a red wine and a reg coke (which as Type1 Diabetic, I thankfully spotted). The cottage pie tasted like microwave mash that had been put under the grill, with meat that tasted like it had been reheated, only ate half, complained when plates cleared 'oh ok', nothing more was said. Asked for the bill, then asked again 10 minutes later... waited 5 minutes for payment to be taken.... ended up going to bar (which had been sitting with dirty glasses for the entirety of my meal), bill in hand asking to pay (and I genuinely think the staff wouldn't have cared if I'd just walked out). Had high expectations, and maybe the main hotel is better, but this was a truly disappointing experience.

Decided to give the 'new' 55 another visit since opening. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. The place was busy but mostly with punters sitting having a drink. Decided to order food. Menu isn't big, possibly as it is a fairly small establishment. Food was presented well, and for all that the cjicken was good the sauce lacked in taste. However, the fries were tasty. I would return but for drinks and a small plate only.

I phoned after 1 hour wait. When will it arrive? Double checked they had the right address. No they had the wrong one. So gave right one again over the phone. Delivery guy in street driving about could see him asking neighbours directions. He saw me waving and came up. He had a different number to my address. Was paying cash and noticed half the order missing. No can of coke or chips. Maybe the driver took it, as it was on the receipt. Cannot prove that though. It was, delivered by a just eat driver even though I phoned direct. Yet full price charge. Had to sort that. Food getting colder. Just lost a potential good customer. Beware. Of what food we got, was by now cold. Ruined our night. I usually ALWAYS Collect a takeaway myself. Now I know why. They simply are not capable working people. Dreadful. Steer clear.

My cousin and I had a long hard day shopping and i failed my driving test (for the 2nd time) what might cheer me up i ask myself quietly: a scrumptious nando’s (braehead one) upon arrival we were stared down aggressively by the blonde girl and then the ginger male in the purple shirt had some serious serious attitude with myself and my cousin thus resulting in tears in the middle of braehead i’m sure you can imagine how humbling this experience was for us both please speak to your staff.

I must add firstly that the taste of the food is really good and have no complaints as to the quality of products. Where I have a massive issue is with the portion size, genuinely lucky if we have recieved a standard portion of chicken donner or cheese never mind a LARGE. It's disappointing as we have shopped here for years and it's noticeable the size difference in the food. Photo attached of chips cheese chicken Donner & chips chicken donner for reference. Again I must add the taste is good and no issues with that it's totally down to the smaller portions. When compared to near by take outs these portions are tiny Chips cheese and donner meat is nearly £9!!!!
