Just had to write one final review of this excellent restaurant which is now sadly closed. We were lucky enough to have our second (and now, final) chance to try their tasting menu, and every dish was a delight. Looking forward to seeing whether there will be a new place with Michelin stars to try soon!

This was a 50th Birthday celebration meal and some of the tasting courses were disappointing. We had bbq lettuce which just tasted burnt and very strong tasting trout with cucumber which was terrible. It was very expensive for what we received. We had mentioned upon booking that it was a 50th Birthday and all they did was stick a candle in a blob of ice cream, not a Happy Birthday written in chocolate or even a strawberry to make it look special.

We booked the heat at home Christmas dinner for 7 people and once the food was outstanding. Beautiful meats and roasties along with wonderful local veg, pigs in blankets, massive Yorkshire puds, stuffing balls and the best gravy ever. This food made our Christmas . Thanks to the team at the Barley Mow

Staff really friendly. Food was quite tasty but not value for money. Found this little cafe is expensive for what you get. Was hoping for decent artisan bread with some presentation effort, but sadly not. Can't work out whether it's a blue beach vibe or a vintage cafe due to the crockery used. Would I go again, not at those prices. However if you're in Newquay give it a look if you like cakes...they looked great.

This is a gem of a find. We were staying in our caravan and had Sunday lunch here. The owners have created a quirky ambience. The food itself was outstanding, large meat portions, huge Yorkshire puds and amazing roast potatoes. All home cooked. Vegetables were perfectly cooked and a good selection. We could not manage a pud but the ones we saw looked amazing. Meal with 2 drinks each (2 wines and 2 soft drinks) £50.

What a lovely place, been there twice once for breakfast and again for lunch. Super friendly with our dog, treats and cudles. Both times food was lovley. The young lady that served us, did not catch her name, was so nice and friendly made us wont to come again, but have got to go home. Will be back in march so will definitely use again.

One of the areas best places to eat. Jayne and her team go the extra mile to make your visit relaxing and enjoyable. We came here for our work Christmas/ end of season meal and all of us throughly enjoyed the food, drinks and atmosphere. We will definitely be back in the New Year it’s one of our favourite places to eat. Thank you so much. 😊

Stayed in Battle for few days had intended to book afternoon tea here but sadly didn’t get round to it, stopped in for breakfast on our last day which was lovely. Lady serving us was very friendly and chatty. We also enjoyed the cakes we bought to take home. Great music playing too.

A wonderful evening of Game foods. Great wines with each dish, Amanda has a great knowledge of wines. Each dish is so well presented and the tastes are fabulous. The staff's attention to detail and friendliness is perfect. This is a restaurant you should try.

Wanted to visit for some time, so glad we visited today, just a shame it took us so long. Such a warm welcome, knowledgeable staff and top notch customer care… a refreshing change to be met with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. The food was excellent, tasty, great quality and perfectly cooked. The best burger we have had by a mile!

Bit dingy lighting, given that the cafe is deep back to front. The teacake was delicious but only scantily buttered and not around the edges, so ask for extra butter. A serviette would have been nice. Taylor decaf tea was extra weak, ask for an extra tea bag to get a bit of taste

Booked the Quill and Quote for my annual Christmas meal with my neighbour Had read excellent reviews. And was not disappointed. We were greeted by Corey. His affable character was so refreshing. We felt that the level of service from Corey and all the staff was exemplary. It’s a rarity these days to find service where you feel that you’re looked after throughout your visit. It was above and beyond with Corey and the rest of the staff. I had the traditional Chrisrmas turkey with all the trimmings and Christmas pudding to finish. The food was outstanding. Tasted like a home cooked Christmas dinner. The neighbour had the vegetarian option of beetroot and butternut squash en croute. She felt that it was too much beetroot and not enough squash. But she was still so impressed with the quality of ingredients. So pleased to have discovered this hidden gem. Will certainly be returning to sample the Sunday lunch. Felt terrible when settling the bill as they don’t take gratuities on card. And had no cash. At this level of service, you want to tip generously. Looking forward to my next visit.

Yet again we had a beautiful meal at The Fisherman’s Arms with friends on Sunday. Definitely a place you want to return to again and again - we have many times and never been disappointed. The Carvery selection and variety is exceptional, cooked beautifully . The staff are so friendly and helpful . We 100% recommend.
