Went this evening 10th June 23, we have friends coming over next week and was looking for places to visit with them. What an absolute s**t hole The beer tasted like vinegar, children in the bar, no evidence of food being served. The place was utterly filthy cobwebs stained brown they were that old. We should have taken heed before we went in, we commented on all the dead hanging baskets. Didn’t finish our drinks, husband left his because it was so bad. Avoid at all costs, I don’t understand why so many good reviews it’s awful, in fairness we didn’t sample the food. Woman behind the bar was pleasant enough.

Went in based on a recommendation from the receptionist at our hotel. Food was brilliant great quality and in good portion sizes. I had the fish and paid ever so slightly more for a larger piece. It was worth every penny. Best Chips I think I have ever had and made from local potatoes. Clearly hand cut and triple cooked. Staff were lovely and the restaurant provided a relaxed atmosphere we even ended up chatting to other diners as we all commented on how good each others food looked. Lovely place would go again.

Was staying in the area with work at Fawlty Towers up the road (sorry I meant the Premier Inn) who had a very limited menu so I look for somewhere local to eat (five minutes walk). Rang up on the off chance of a table and we were fitted in no problem and afforded a lovely warm welcome excellent hand pulled beer and lovely freshly prepared food. First visit but won’t be our last, thanks for the hospitality!

Shockingly bad, from having to keep coat on as the pub was freezing. To ignorant girl serving (large girl with dark hair) 20/12/24 @ 13.45pm. Dirty tables, half of menu not available. Then the food... all cold, and tasted like it had been fried in the same dirty oil. I worked in the hospitality industry for over 30yesrs and would not have any of your staff working for me. They do not understand good customer service and the kitchen staff are obviously poorly trained. This pub is massively miss managed! Will not be returning and also be telling my many local friends to avoid it. Such a waste and shame. Won't go near a brewers fayre again!!

The pace was clean enough but one waitress in particular was very slap-happy in her tidying up and taking dirty pits away, she dropped a dirty knife on the floor, looked at it and carried on, it was still on the floor when we left over 30 minutes later!
