The best restaurants serving British food in Buxton Central High Peak East Midlands

Lovely little place with inside and outside tables, next to shop in quiet old arcade opposite the Opera House. Superior food with a local flourish, and Buxton Pudding Emporium shop next door run by same people. Not fast food, quality comes with care and attention which takes time, so don't rush, enjoy the flavours and the quiet location.

Coffee was good, I can’t be doing with weak tasting coffee. Breakfast was more than enough, glad I went for the modest breakfast!! Great service and atmosphere!

The offer at number 6 has been continually excellent on every visit we have made over 20 years. The menu is interesting, the salads delicious and the specials always have something different to tempt you. Well done.

Called in at this cafe for coffee and toast, could not believe we was charged £4.95 for 2 slices of the thinnest toast I have ever seen, what a rip off can’t imagine the price had we have had condiments too. Won’t be returning…..

Had a great night at the Milton Tap. Great atmosphere and made to feel very welcome by staff and clientele. A traditional pub atmosphere. Just what we were looking for.

Little gem of a pub. We were camping nearby and needed a distraction from the rain. Went over for lunch and was very impressed with the food served. Great portion sizes and I would say above average quality from what you would expect in a pub lunch. A fly on the wall would have laughed at us all oohing and ahhing at each plate coming to the table! Everything ordered was devoured with pleasure. The staff were very friendly and the wait for food was quick. Lovely day out.

I booked a table for 5 people for 16th Dec at 12.15. We all arrived early and the three who were eating ordered before 12.15. Two were just having coffee. Despite the pub being quiet we did not get our meals until 5 past 1. Other people were being served who came in after us. I asked a staff member how long the food would be and she came back with the answer not long. I said how long is not long and she said about 5 minutes. It was another good ten minutes before the food arrived. The festive roast looked very nice but the pie and the lamb kebabs ( minus the skewer as they didn't have any) were not very good-- Tough and nearly cold lamb and a dry looking pie. An experience not to be repeated.

Service has improved 100% since our last visit in June. Food still very good.

Went to Buxton for day trip fish and chips twice two cups of tea £24-00 chips were cold dripping in fat and scabby fish was also dripping in fat avoid this dirty place at all costs I used to work in a chip shop don't understand how they can serve this crap and get away with it

Visited today large portions, great price and really tasty.
