Called in on a whim as we were passing and hadn’t had lunch - unfortunately the kitchen had closed as we’d arrived - I think it was around 3pm, so we could only have drinks and cake. The Chocolate Hazelnut Cake was delicious! And the Chai Latte was lovely. Service was very friendly and quick. There was another table celebrating a birthday with an afternoon tea, which looked great, so I think we’ll be back to try that out :-)

This is a must go to pub when your in the area. We stayed at a nearby caravan site and used the plough twice, lunch and an evening. On both occasions we were made feel so welcome along with our dogs, both from the locals and the staff. Service was amazing and the food was on a difference level, absolutly stunning. Thanks to all the staff for everything, and we will certainly be back to enjoy your fantastic place again.

Visited with my husband, 2 children (8&5yrs) and small elderly dog. I had looked ahead to check it was dog-friendly and was pleased when we arrived that yes, well behaved dogs are welcomed. The service was polite and prompt for the most part. The food was very nice and reasonable on price. I was pleasantly surprised that the chicken nuggets were proper chicken breast. My hubby was very happy with his burger. My fish was nice, the batter was quite oily rather than crisp as I prefer but not something to complain about. Had there been less of a delay in taking our clear plates we may have stated for desert but paid & left before anyone came to ask about desert. Normally wouldn't mention this but they weren't especially busy so this stood out in an otherwise very good visit, hence 4 instead of 5 rating. Overall we enjoyed it and would return, and indeed have already recommended to a friend.

We recently visited 1760 Brasserie in Oakham for afternoon tea, and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was warm and stylish, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented, with fresh, flavourful sandwiches, perfectly baked scones, and an array of delicious pastries and cakes. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and we’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a special treat in Oakham!

We had a fabulous afternoon tea for 4 people. The food was delicious. Everything was so fresh - sandwiches, scones & an amazing selection of cakes. Free refills of tea & coffee available as well. We added a bottle of Prosecco as we were celebrating birthdays. Staff very friendly & nothing too much trouble. We pre booked the previous day.

The food was fine and of decent quality but nothing special. The service was below par. We weren't permitted to order until 20 minutes after we arrived because of a "big party" (it wasn't) and it was 80 minutes until we got our food from first arrival and one was a cold cheese platter! Ok ish in a Michelin star restaurant but not in Rutland for Sunday lunch. A shame as the location and venue is otherwise charming.

Loved it! We had an incredible stay in the Aubergine room – it was beautifully decorated, comfortable, and full of charm. The rustic setting and warm atmosphere of the pub made it even more special. Our stay included a seven-course tasting menu that was absolutely incredible, and the breakfast the next morning was just as amazing. The charm of the pub and the entire place is something photos simply can’t capture. We can’t recommend it enough!

“A royal disaster at the Kings Arms! Took the family out for what we hoped would be a hearty meal and instead got… well, a small sample size of a dinner! The much-anticipated muntjac main came out and looked more like an appetizer, served with all the grandeur of a bite-sized snack. When we politely asked the waitress if this was actually the main course, she snapped back with a cheery ‘Well, maybe you should eat before you come next time!’ Ah, the charm. Things only got weirder when the owner marched over, raised an eyebrow at us like we were some sort of Yelp/TripAdvisor/Google Review mafia, and kindly informed us, ‘You’d better not even think about leaving a review.’ Well, here we are, honoring her request… sort of. So, if you’re into dining experiences where you leave hungrier than you arrived and enjoy being mildly threatened, the Kings Arms is your kind of place!”

An outstanding experience from start to finish. Excellent choice of drinks impeccable service and attention to detail. The food is exquisite from the homemade bread and flavoured butter gorgeous olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The soups are delicious my husband had the cream of parsnip with curry oil. I had a wonderful blue cheese pear and pecan salad to start. The main course I had the Duck breast with pickled pear and wild mushrooms OMG sublime. The other main course was cold meats with olives and pickles served with almonds delicious. Highly recommended you won’t be disappointed ♥️♥️
