Great place to stop and have a coffee

Wonderful independently owned village pub serving excellent home made, fresh to order food, a wide variety of drinks and ales which change regularly, and has a welcoming, fun atmosphere. Regular live events including music and games, and there are two TV bars showing sports and a separate pool and games room, and a beer garden. We had the vegan burger basket meal with the best chips and home made onion rings. Worth a visit if you are in this part of the world. Open 7 days a week too.

Food is so fresh and amazing im 9rs old and i was going to get my lunch there so friendly 😃 I highly recommend

Food carts in the back are brilliant but it's not a cosy pub and seems a bit "old boys"!

We had the perfect meal here to celebrate our anniversary (26 years, how have we done it, hahaha). We arrived and enjoyed a glass of sparkling wine and the padron peppers (they were amazing) while we considered what to have for dinner. We didn't feel rushed to order, and the service was excellent from the young members of waiting staff. I had the chicken & bacon pot pie with mash and my wife had the Pork dish. Both were exquisite 👌 We were sorry we didn't have dessert because tge option looked amazing. I really enjoyed my visit and i look forward to returning. I reckon this restaurant could offer a monthly Jazz evening with a set menu midweek, if the owners are reading this then please consider some events.

Often visit after dropping our caravan off at the nearby storage facility. Food is cooked to order. I highly recommend the lambs liver and bacon 😋. Friendly and attentive staff.

Disappointing. Went in on way home with no booking and the place looked good so we were hopeful of a good experience. Service was clunky with the bar man being waiter and server too. It was also very slow. Had to get our own menus. All had different dishes and they were all of varying quality IMO. Took a long time for food to appear and it did not come out all at the same time. Steak was fine. Burger average. Plate looked lacking. Chips awful. Tasted odd - I thought they were oven chips but if fried under done. Small portion. Veg options not great - Frittata not good and was not eaten. Fish was ok Pie ok chicken ok. Overall it was a disappointment. I have had much better for similar pricing and I would not go back. The staff were friendly and the setting is quite nice so I would say the chef let this meal down.

First time visiting since reopening. Host was welcoming and lovely and cosy inside with the fires going. Good selection of drinks. Went there for evening meal. Food was made with quality ingredients, tasty, nicely presented, and good portion sizes.

This chef is exceptional, and I would know. I only review very rarely, for excellence. This place is such. If you like your liver as smooth as silk, and as tender as chocolate mousse, come here. Awesome pizza, gorgeous mussels and octopus. What’s not to love? 2 drinks 2 starters 2 main courses. Less than £70.00

Delicious Jacket potatoes, amazing cakes, very good tea and excellent service. Lovely atmosphere inside and nice views from the window.

Nice food, friendly and attentive staff. Baby friendly, enough space for pram. Staff all seemed busy even though not loads of customers at the time, keeping the store clean.

A lovely cosy pub. Now one of our favourites. 9 of us came here for Christmas dinner tonight and we couldn't fault the food or service. Beautiful roast all round with loads of extras and the service was spot on. A big thank you to the staff and Mrs Street.
