Terrible service Order took too long to be delivered And while waiting Didn’t answer the phone Will not be ordering from here again

Thanks to TripAdvisor this was a great find and just what we were looking for. Hobson's has a varied menu of freshly prepared food. The staff are friendly and welcoming and it has a relaxed atmosphere that made the whole experience enjoyable for us all. There are tables both in and outside. We will definitely return.

We have been here a few times and it’s been good but today my partner had the mega breakfast. The beans toms and mushrooms were cold and the sausage was undercooked.

1st time visting today, lovely venue, food was lovely and our waitress Linda was brilliant! Will be visiting again :)

The chief shouting at the front of house staff, in an patronising way created an awful atmosphere in the restaurant and ruined our dining experience.

First visit and wasn't disappointed. Food was really good quality and fresh. Service was on point and a lovely pub.

Fantastic cheese counter, helpful staff and super deli and wine selection. Stocked up for an evening in when staying in very quaint Wivenhoe. Will certainly be back.

We came for a pre booked afternoon tea for my mum’s birthday. We were sat for 50 minutes before the food came out, with no apology or explanation for the delay - you could understand if it were a cooked meal that was ordered on arrival but an afternoon tea that had been prebooked so they knew what we would be eating to have that much delay seemed unreasonable. The food was reasonable, though disappointing that the one (slightly dry) scone each was plain and not fruit as described on the menu. We had to ask for more tea as were not offered any more. The food would have been ok if it were accompanied by great service but by the time it arrived we were all a bit fed up and ready to leave.

I've been going here for years. It's a fantastic pub, great staff, great food. Very childish friendly, 2 parks and a bouncy castle. My son is austistic and the staff are very understanding of his needs.

A independent hidden gem in the middle of Colchester city centre, this beautiful little cafe serves up some great food and drinks. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and staff are very friendly and helpful. Food includes a range of yummy omelettes (sadly forgot to take a photo), sandwiches, jacket potatoes and various breakfasts. Definitely recommend a visit to this place!

Gentleman greeting us went above and beyond, especially regarding allergen advice which never happens eating out. nothing was too much, thank you for making us feel so welcomed with two little children
