The best restaurants serving British food in Shenley Hertsmere East of England

The is a locals pub with a friendly atmosphere that extended to visitors like me. A lovely pub setting good food. The house beer "Black Horse" was served to perfection

Quiet, airy cafe with delightful staff and a wonderful outlook onto a field. The has brown bites were beyond superb and dare I say worthy of a detour. Peaceful place, lots of room, a great antidote to a dog walk and children’s play area just a short walk away. Plenty of parking too it’s an ideal rendezvous point. Coffee well made.

A great place to eat, just 3 mins from South Mims services. Plenty of parking. Staff were welcoming and plenty of seating available. Menu choices were good and service was quick. Food was excellent and portion size good. The only negative thing . Was the bill was not accurate. Overall a very pleasant experience.

From the moment, we walked in, we felt welcome, the atmosphere was warm and chatty, with little furry friends allowed in. We were greeted with a smile to whoever we talked, but our server Benjamin made our experience even more enjoyable. He was friendly, quick to help, nothing was too much trouble for him. We ordered seafood linguine and burger and both were good, I would definitely recommend this pub whether you are after the food or just a drink

We had an incredible evening at the White Horse Shenley this evening. Thank you to our waitress Jolie and chefs Marian and Chen. Food and service outstanding. Most of all on leaving my car failed to start despite several attempts. We were invited to wait inside despite the staff wanting to finish up after a very busy service A big shout out to everyone for helping us out, offering to make hot drinks and just being there. A huge thank you for getting us out of the rain into the dry.

I ordered a foot long Italian with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and mayo. Given a tiny amount of lettuce and two slices of tomato, had to ask for more tomato and was given an extra slice!. Ridiculous for nearly £7 with no extra's.
