A beautiful historic building in Elm Hill in Norwich which serves great food and drinks. The service was friendly and efficient, the food great although the sausage roll was a bit cold inside. We look forward to trying the Sunday roast.

excellent breakfast.. ladies were really busy, but we enjoyed the ambiance whilst waiting. Unlike some very unlikable other customers complaining loudly how they had to wait for breakfast. The place was rammed... the staff doing they best they can, with smiles on their faces. Excellent staff.. Great breakfast. It does get busy but what else are you going to do on a Sunday morning.. meant for lazy breakfasts. ( I also work in catering... sometimes people would be good to exercise patience and give the staff a break)

Superb service - professional and friendly - and wonderful food. I had the bangers and mash and they were the best I'd ever eaten. Pudding - crumble with custard - again fantastic. And the price - great value for money. All in all a wonderful experience. Will return and so will my friend and her family.

Wow, what a lovely lunch we had today! All three courses were beautifully served, and tasted delicious (including the vegan option). The trainee waiters were very respectful and attentive, and confident enough to have a chat about their course. The instructor guided them subtly when necessary, to help them improve their skills. We are so lucky to have this restaurant in Norwich! We have already booked a return visit.

I visited the Britons Arms with my husband and mother-in-law for afternoon tea. Pros: - staff were very friendly - booked table beforehand which was ready when we arrived - lovely food (particularly the sausage rolls) and good value for money for an afternoon tea - great location just at the top of Elm Hill, and in a very interesting building Cons: - the pew my husband and MIL sat on was so narrow as to be almost impossible to get comfortable (they both felt like they were sliding off the seat most of the time) - there did not appear to be any heating on so we got colder and colder, which made for and uncomfortable visit - the toilets are outside and really quite unpleasant - not clean and generally very unsavoury - looks dated; could be such a wonderful little place with a few tweaks Overall, I would not rush back even though I felt the food was good.
