well run place nice staff . Many people eating ,will call again, i think the village run it to keep it in the community , nice idea. john

As a regular visitor to many restaurants around Bury this is in my opinion the best breakfast for the price. The sausages and bacon are clearly high end quality and it’s always freshly cooked. The staff are always friendly and the shop to me just has a lovely vibe about it.

We all met at this great pub, landlord went out of his way to help and chat with as we had all come from different locations, food was amazing hot and not long to wait for … would highly recommend

The staff are really friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and plentiful and at a reasonable price. We will definitely be going there again when we visit Bury Saint Edmunds

I have lived close to Haverhill for over 15 years and for the first time I thought as I was going to the Dentist, I'd have a big fry up breakfast just in case it was going to be some hours before I could eat again. I was made to feel welcome on entry and found a table easier, (this was about 11am). I ordered the number 1 and had a cappucino whilst I was waiting. I could hear them cooking it and after 15 mins out in came and it looked lovely. I was not disappointed, very tasty indeed. I was asked when I was going to pay what I thought and I said it was yummy and I hope to be back again soon. Well done Amber Cafe. Keep up the excellent work.

Went to the cafe on a Friday prior to a meeting to grab a sandwich and read up on some stuff for the meeting and was served by a lovely young man that was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. I was able to sit in peace and do what I needed to do whilst enjoying lunch.

Horrible place to go I work as taxi ,regular drop people to this pub .went in to use loo ,male staff member come waiting for me to come out from loo and said you can’t use loo if you don’t want buy drink .i said I drop your passanger .he said but you can’t use our loo front of full pub with member of public.feel so nervous and stressed and he just got so angry.i would nerve recommend anyone go to .feel like staf have licence to insult anyone .horrible person never use you loo again but i hope that make you happy .

Fish is amazing & beautifully cooked ,this is our fav place to go for fish & chips ...but they do lots of other things to 😉

Today we went to the Marquis Suffolk for my Granddaughter's 18th Birthday and what a fabulous time we had food was beautiful and service was excellent. I would highly recommend a visit here . The new update is so lovely. Staff are amazing. Nobody new it was her birthday as she wouldn't let us tell them because she is shy. Thank you so much for making it memorable

For me this meal did not ring right, like a bell with a small crack in it. My mother and I were not wanting typical pub food today but something different, special. Somehow despite local ingredients, the flavours of the central parts of the meal did not really jump off the plate and were sometimes shaded by the other sauces etc. It was expensive for what it was and the food somewhat incongruent for a Wednesday lunch. If brave the restaurant could ditch the pretension associated with Michelin association and go back to basics. Smears of sauces do not justify a two course meal for two: £92 , 40 minutes of dining, where to be honest I have better in a French university restaurant for a fraction of the price, with a better atmosphere. I would have liked to give feed back at the time but it was not sought.

Just had Xmas dinner, absolutely gorgeous food , all served together and piping hot , chocolate brownie was a culinary symphony for the tastebuds , such a lovely place with amazing staff Thankyou to Jack and the team , truly wonderful Xmas dinner

Just so crap. Attended a wedding here, asked for an allergen list for the buffet, and was told I need to call ahead to let them know that I had an egg allergy. Staff told me I could have cheesy chips free, I asked for a burger at extra cost but an hour later when I ask if it's coming um toms I need to go to another building to order it. Try to order a drinks nd told it's card only... This place is run by the staff for the staff, the foods a joke and it's all very emotive. Never again. Further to previous review, landlord has justbehestcted me from the pub for "being difficult"; if you like being treated like a problem for asking a legitimate question the white horse is for you. Amazing service with fresh food, amazing prices, and amazing quality. Would go again.
