We decided to pop in for a drink ,my partner went to the bar and I went to the toilet ,10 mins later my partner still at the bar not been acknowledged woman sat behind the bar not looking at him and what looked like the manager talking to some people ,fair enough if you can't serve say so or if your talking just say you will be a minute. They were so rude and ignorant maybe if we had been stuck up people he may have looked at us ,but we are just normal. One to avoid

This was our third trip on the Lady Florence. This time for breakfast. The food is prepared and cooked on board whilst we motor along the river. The dining room is comact - if there are 12 people on board, then it does get a little 'cosy'. However, on this occassion we chartered the boat for just the four of us, so it was very roomy. There is a wood burning stove on board that keeps the dining room very warm. Breakfast was rounded off with homemade apple pie and muffins!

My parents have been here multiple times and recommended it as a great place for my 30th birthday meal! The food is incredible! Firstly, the menu is so varied and I wanted SO many things on there, it was hard to choose. I settled for the starter of Beef Croquettes with Wasabi Mayo and my main was beef rendang with rice. Both were delicious and full of flavour. I also tried the Bang Bang Cauliflower which was SO tasty! The highlight of the meal was the apple crumble though .. beautifully sweet and sugary. It is expensive here but so worth it for the quality! Thank you for making my birthday so special!

During a recent work trip, I had the pleasure of staying several nights at The Jolly Sailor in Orford. The place exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and friendliness that immediately made me feel at home amid the oak beams. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and were incredibly flexible in accommodating my request for an early breakfast that I needed to get to work on time. Their attention to detail and willingness to meet my every need was outstanding. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Every corner, from the rooms to the common areas, was spotless and well-maintained. The care and pride the taken to create the perfect environment was exceptional. The food on offer each evening was excellent. However, breakfast - that was made to order - was superb with a special shout out to Terry who could never do too much for me. Of particular note, were the fresh kippers and the smoked salmon which they sourced from a local smokehouse only a few steps away from the front door of the pub. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing retreat near the quayside, surrounded by oak beams or simply a convenient base to explore the area, The Jolly Sailor is a fantastic choice. With its warm atmosphere, friendly service, and exceptional standards, it’s a place I’d happily return to and would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.

What a great pub! There was a range of four real ales, that had clearly been kept well. We had a couple of dishes from the specials board, which changes regularly. The masaaman chicke curry was excellent. There is also wide choice of wines. This is a pub that is dog friendly, is clearly used by the locals and also is very welcoming to visitors.

Very disappointed with the sandwiches, bread was very dry and the smoked salmon bagel was frozen! BLT contains cold bacon rashers. All in all - an expensive, disappointing lunch. Will not frequent the cafe again .
