Does exactly what it says on the tin!!!!!!! Lovely food served timely and all the staff were just lovely….. service with a smile… on a Monday lunchtime the venue was packed and with very good reason…. I would highly recommend Meadow Hill Cafe and will return again….. I had the tomato and bean soup which was yummy!!!!!

I came to Saffron Walden having travelled down from Shropshire and went for lunch at Mocha with family on Saturday. While half my family received their meals in a timely way, 3 if us were not served at all. After having watched the others eat at the table, after about 45 minutes I went to ask. I was abruptly told by a young girl behind the counter that they hadn't even started cooking it and that it wasn't her fault as it's up to the people cooking it. No apology from her, no customer service at all. I asked for a refund. She refunded the food but not the drinks that we'd had (that we'd bought to eat with our food that hadn't arrived!). Absolutely abysmal service. Me and my family will definitely never visit there again. It was disgraceful. It didn't seem to be the fault of the kitchen, I think this girl behind the counter was up to mischief (not putting the order tab in the right place). Too young to care, too worried about her perfect hair and make up I'm presuming. I really hope this happens to her and her family at some point and then she might learn how it feels.

Milkshakes were brilliant, ordered the chocolog pancakes which on the menu states it comes with some chocolate log unfortunately neither turned up with any on the plate, when I mentioned it at the till got a half bothered apology and was still charged full price, which is a shame because if they had run out I would have like to have being told but to not even discount the puddings due to missing item seems poor customer service to me, was going to go for breakfast there tomorrow but think I will give it a miss now, which is a shame cos the menu does look great.

Walked all the way from Great Easton expecting to get lunch. Only to be told they haven't been doing food since January. Pity they can't update their website so everyone knows. Have been here several times before but won't be going again.

We had a mid-week lunch at The Dog & Duck as a walking group of 13 people. This is a proper village pub, not a gastro pub. The menu is typical pub fare, done well. Examples include fish and chips, sausages and mash, or lasagne. The quality of the food was excellent and everybody enjoyed their lunches. Prices were reasonable and portions generous. They also do a very reasonably priced seniors menu. A few of the group had deserts and, apparently, the home-made deserts are not to be missed! The service was friendly and efficient. Several of our group remarked how good the pub was. We'll definitely visit again!

Used to frequent this establishment in the early 80s and we were keen to revisit now that we live back in the area. We went for Sunday lunch and were impressed by the quality of food as well as the efficient and friendly service. In so many restaurants the cutlery and glassware are streaky. Not here. Everything was immaculate with spotless napiery. We will be back.
