The best restaurants serving British food in City of London, Westminster London

We were excited by the concept and booked a dinner for 6. The steak dish was “sold out” at 6pm as was the endive salad!! With a restricted size menu and cheese based theme we were forced to order multiples of the same dishes. A pity, as the food was good just restricted in options and some meat based choices other than a charcuterie option is needed, or at least 5 other main course options. The food saved this from being a single star experience, the wait staff experience was very poor. Almost unacceptable to charge the service fee….

¡Excelente pub! Todo el personal es tan servicial y acogedor, especialmente Angelo que es tan servicial y asegurándose de que nuestra experiencia sea la mejor. En general, este pub es increíble y sin duda lo recomendaría.

We visited the Newman arms after work this week. The staff were absolutely brilliant and so friendly. Martin looked after us when we arrived and showed us to our table that we booked upstairs. Tom was super informative and told us about the beer that was locally brewed in Walthamstow and Mike was very friendly. Would defo recommend this pub and will be coming back again after work! X

Habíamos reservado la cena en conexión con una velada en el teatro. Entradas prepagadas a una producción musical y cerrar un prepago comida en un restaurante especializado en una cena de carne asada con todos sus detalles que había estado allí antes y yo estaba deseando mostrando mi hija la comida increíble y experiencia. El agente de reservas era Evan Evans - una agencia de buena reputación que habíamos reservado y llevado 4 tours con esa semana. Imagine nuestra sorpresa cuando llegamos a encontrar el restaurante reservado sólo 2 meses antes ya no existía. Reformas de haber ocurrido 5 meses antes. Nos aseguraron que la reserva sería respetada en el mostrador de recepción y luego de nuevo a la zona de restaurante. Nos llevaban para el teatro y no se han acostumbrado a comer bien y así estábamos bastante encantados con lo que parecía ser un encantador y renovado menú rediseño del nuevo restaurante. Elegimos el vino (no incluido en la reserva) y nos dirigimos a las opciones del menú Seleccionar dentro de los parámetros de lo explicado como domésticos de nuestra reserva - hasta ahora tan bueno. Elegimos un aperitivo para compartir y entre cada una de las Dover y el acompañamiento. El servicio era impecable, aunque sospecho que el pescado no era fresco como sabía más bien como una pecera huele rancio. . Pero luego seleccionados un intrépidos del desierto que compartimos como único era bastante abundante y me por el sabor.

Lo visité a finales de octubre y teníamos el menú establecido. La comida era buena, aunque no me gustó el uso abundante de ajo y chile en casi todos los platos, que escondía los otros sabores agradables y más complejos. Lamentablemente estábamos sentados junto a una gran mesa de gente extremadamente ruidosa. La camarera les pidió que lo bajaran pero ni siquiera podíamos oírnos. Fue muy decepcionante salir y ver que la otra habitación estaba básicamente vacía con un montón de mesas libres para 4 . ¿Por qué demonios dejarías a la gente sufrir así cuando tienes mesas disponibles? La experiencia estaba completamente arruinada y no podíamos esperar para irnos.

We went to Charlie’s Restaurant a few times. We had dinner, breakfast, and drinks. Charlie’s had a beautiful decor, a full bar, and comfortable seating. Dinner: They had a very specific menu but made accommodations for us quite easily. The food was prepared to our specifications. Breakfast: This was probably my favorite breakfast due to the choices that were available. The pancakes were delicious and unlike pancakes I had eaten before. The cappuccinos were dusted with chocolate and were so good. Drinks: There was an area near the entrance of the restaurant for people who wanted a drink or a coffee. It had comfortable seating and we enjoyed sitting there talking with a lady at the next table.

Wish version of The Ned The pool table does not make for a high end bar! Shame, As the pictures made it look lovely, but it really wasn’t .

We lounged here for hours till check-in and service throughout was effecient, attentive (Sujeewa and Dwayne) without making us feel awkward for leisurely lunching on a sandwich dish and a lunch bowl (and some drinks). Food was decent!

First and last time dining since the pandemic and change of ownership. Firstly dogs are now restricted from entering the dining area even though there is no partition between it and general seating so their excuse of allergies rang hollow. Secondly they have moved the kitchen from the middle of the pub and relocated it to the men's toilet, which seems to lack proper ventilation as the place smelt of burning fat and not quite the lovely smoky atmosphere a lot of reviews have claimed. Lastly the food was adequate at best, portions are small for their price and the roast beef i ordered turned up raw and a waiter seeing me push it around my plate offered "to have the chef fry it up a bit" Gave them an extra star for their roast potatoes, so many place get them wrong but were rather good here.

After a lovely evening at the theatre I wanted a cocktail before we got the train home. I have had drinks and food at the Rockwell bar on a number of occassions but yesterday we got treated very badly but a rude member of staff at the Rockwell. The bar manager continued to argue with my family group ( of ladies ) as ‘ we had already had a drink before hand ‘ To then be told wasn’t able to have a drink there even after we was served water and had ordered. Then asked to leave like and had to get our things and go. Very rude, patronising and embarrassing situation for me and my family. For that I will not be returning not recommending this bar to anyone and you can definitely get better service elsewhere.

Gran café local, un pequeño lugar ocupado Tortilla y taza de té... . excelente comida a un precio justo! Gracias chicos, necesitamos más restaurantes a precios razonables en la capital, ¡manténganse al día!

El lugar más hermoso, mágico! El ambiente, la comida y el servicio eran de primera clase! Mi lugar favorito para comer en Londres. Gracias por una noche maravillosa. También vine hace dos semanas por primera vez para almorzar con mi marido - un ambiente relajado encantador por el día.

No staff on. Any checkout ( serious ) 2 of 4 Self help. Tills broken and no. Floor. Manager I left 200 pound worth of. Foid at the broken till Not going. Again sainsbury and waitress Much more proffessional and intrested in..customer care Never again Martin..digan

It’s cheap and that’s the only plus. The food wasn’t tasty, some of the dishes came cold. Very moderate. Horrible toilet.

Un super restaurant avec beaucoup de bonne humeur ! De la comfort food british typique faite maison et je recommande le crumble aux pommes On reviendra !
