The best restaurants serving British food in City of London, Westminster London

The worst and most expensive roast beef dinner I have had, tough elastic beef, sloppy watery spinach, and god knows what they did to the roast poatoes, black brown and texture of boiled potatoes, a pint of flat warm lemonade from a big plastic bottle, the waitress kept repeating with a scowl that service was not included, I went with a friend after listening to someone famous reminisce about his childhood memories of this place, I understand that it is smack bang in the City of London and assumed that they did not like our appearance and thus the hostile reception and the terrible food. Will never return.

Their mushroom pie was sooo good! The service is amazing. The staff is lovely. The atmosphere is also very nice - cozy.

This pub is perfect if you are visit the British museum. It is right opposite the museum and you can eat here after visiting the museum. The food is like in all pubs, I decided to eat Fish and Chips, the traditional meal English and were just as I remembered, bland (yet when I return to London again ask sure).

We paid 300 pound for two … starters were ok .. but main dish cod was flavourless … and the sauce contained bacon and white beans ???? With fish? Cheese plate was pre cut and melting on the plate when they brought it … they should change the chef and menu …

Dropped in for breakfast with an old friend. Great, no nonsense spot for a feed and a good catch-up.

The waitress clearly forgot how to smile! Not very friendly at all! Unfortunately there was a mouse running around the restaurant!

Ideal for a special meal,great food,lovely friendly staff,probably the best steak to be had in London ,5th visit over the years ,never dissapoints ,Noah our waiter was excellent and the Malbec first class to accompany our fillet steak 10/10

Bueno, qué experiencia maravillosa. La atención de todo el personal era perfecto como era de esperar. La comida estaba fuera de este mundo y envió nuestras papilas gustativas salvaje! Recomendaría este restaurante a cualquiera! Nada que me guste más que pagar por una excelente comida y servicio y que era uno que estaba más que feliz de pagar! Gracias a Portland volveremos en un 1000% en 2025 sin duda.
