The best restaurants serving British food in City of London, Westminster London

I had read the reviews and thought I’d give it the benefit of the doubt. Wish I hadn’t, this is a shocking place. The cauliflower cheese is watery, mushy peas are a very odd colour and from a can, the pies are cold, spiced veg and Camembert had no Camembert in it and the horseradish mash is mash with horseradish on the side. The worst part is, they use SMASH :D claiming its real mash made from piper potatoes. Avoid at all costs, esp if you’re British. This is shocking

I was in here twice during our recent stay at the Hilton and neither would i report as positive. On arrival to the hotel we visited here for a quick drink and nibble, the serving staff were really very poor in both their knowledge of drinks and their communication skills. We asked if they had any Crisps or nuts and was greeted with lost faces! The ordered some Aubergine fried pieces, but they were really awful - VERY greasy and tasteless. We also ate here for Breakfast and again the service was pretty similar and the food very confused - we ordered smoked salmon and poached eggs on toast but nothing about it was really positive - the very small eggs on served on a circle of toast about 3 cm wide (of what use that is supposed to be i have no idea).

Hello, when I made a reservation, I asked for cosy table for 2. I understood, that it’s not guarantee. So when we arrived, the waitress led us to a table near a very narrow passage. When someone walked through, they basically almost touched us. But it’s okay. There was one table near us, which looked more comfortable. We asked waitress if we can seat here instead, and she said it’s a table for 3(it is not, because later only 2 guests were seating here). Okay. when a table for 2 near us became available, we asked again. And the waitress said she needs to check. I asked what is the difference? You cannot guarantee a curtain table, this table is for 2, why we cannot sit here at enjoy the rest of the evening. She went to speak to manager. We asked another waitress and explained that we actually asked for cosy table and understood that basically you allocated to us opposite, very loud and uncomfortable table. At the end they allowed us to change a table, but the evening was ruined. When we received the bill, we were surprised that you included £1 charity without asking us. My husband is a concierge and my friend is a manager in high street saloon. They both found it unprofessional and ridiculous. Basically, you showed to us how you do not care if we will come again or not. Noted.

We had a lovely time at Pilots, the food was fantastic. Service at the start was slightly slow however everything else was amazing!

Took my Parents there as a Christmas present. It is a beautiful setting with a lovely view. We had the lunch menu which was nice but slightly let down on the vegetarian option it came across as an overly buttery soup with vegetables in. The puddings was also a let down it was pear ice cream in a cup not what you expect for a £300 meal. But the main let down was the waiter. Towards the end he was walking towards another table and we asked for two coffees and he got in a fit and spent 1 minute calming himself down was embarrassing. Also £18 worth of water without letting us know.

Not welcome if you just want a drink on deck. We called on a Monday lunchtime for a bottle of wine on their empty deck but were turned away by the manager who said they were only accepting reservations. The indoor section was also virtually empty. We went instead to the nearby Tattershall where the wine was cheaper, nicer and deck was much more comfortable. Shame as we had been customers of the Hispaniola for many years.

Reservamos un té de la tarde para el cumpleaños especial de un amigo. Rellené el formulario en el sitio web y recibí una respuesta por correo electrónico diciendo que el Wine Lounge no estaba disponible, pero la Eastway Brasserie estaba disponible. Tuvimos una maravillosa visita el domingo por la tarde. Servicio atento, tetera y tazas encantadoras y buena comida. También había especificado requisitos dietéticos como parte de mi intercambio de correo electrónico (vegetariano, sin gluten y sin lactosa) y tuvieron todo eso en cuenta en la comida servida.

Joe and all staff were exceptional in friendliness and professionalism. Superb afternoon tea, with great selection of treats!

Joyeuse ambiance apres le marathon, serveurs tres sympatiques et nouriture succulante. Pour ma part le fish and chips est delicieux ! Je recommande! 😃

I was really looking forward to coming here, but found the pies had little flavour, was expensive to add things to the dish such as veg or mash. My pie was not warm at all and was really disappointed, staff were not helpful and chairs and tables were not comtortable.

Absolutely 5 stars… Great atmosphere, great staff and amazing food at great prices. Love it can’t wait to do it again All fresh ingredients, and a great wine choice

Faultless for us. Excellent roast dinner enjoyed by all. Lovely ambiance. Great staff. If windy / cold would recommend booking a table away from door entrance as it did get chilly BUT would still come and wear gloves and eat the food 🤣 fantastic.

I went there for dinner last week, and I must say that I was very impressed by the overall experience. Starting with the service provided which was the exceptional, to the expertise of the Sommelier Giulia, the food was absolutely outstanding, the quality of the products were superb and the flavours were amazing. I would definitely go back to eat that superb Duck again!!!

Uniek Londens steakhouse met een originele inrichting dat zeer druk bezocht is. Het is een gezellige plaats met zeer lekkere gerechten.

あちこちにあります。 食べ物に困った時、飲食店を探すに疲れさとき等気軽に入れます。 値段はMcDonald'sより若干高めです。 味はファストフードと割り切れば、美味しいと思います。 SOUPが思いのほか美味しかったです。
