£26 for a Salmon burger that was too spicy to eat. Asked a for a side salad - was served some rocket and two cherry tomatoes unbelievably drenched in dressing. When you see the prices you think you might be getting something special but it's simply a massive rip off. Avoid.

We booked the kitchen and bar restaurant a couple of weeks in advance notifying them that we would be using our Jumeirah One £100 voucher that we exchanged with our points. We were warmly greeted and sat straight away. Service was very good, though empty inside. We ordered the salt and pepper squid to start which was very nice. Then for mains we had the king prawn linguine which was very nice though lacked any real flavour. Maybe a touch of chilli or something to give it a slight kick. We also had the mixed grill with lamb kofta, chicken skewers and diced lamb. Unfortunately the diced lamb was tough. Surely use lamb neck fillet. Chewy as stewing lamb. Shame. Rest was very nice. Then we came to pay. I said we were paying with a Jumeirah One voucher. My phone was taken to prove the code, we never saw the bill! Then there were a total of four people trying to sort it. Eventually I was told that the voucher couldn’t be found and could I email an address to prove the code. Really. Finally I said I would give it 5 more minutes or walk out. Had enough. Finally I was given the thumbs up that it had been accepted. Still no bill!! And I have now found out that they have deducted not only one voucher but also another £100 voucher without my consent (and I believe the bill was about £90). All in all an embarrassment of an ending. Shame. I await an apology, my second £100 back and maybe some kind of reimbursement too for the problems!!!

One of the top restaurants in Norwich. Beautiful food. Great host, Alex, always on hand to give optimal service. Small elegant restaurant with out the stuffiness. Innovative menu but don’t expect the foam with stick pretence. Not here. Prepared with care and you won’t leave hungry. A wonderful place for special occasions or if you just want a fabulous meal. Reasonable prices for what you are served

I had a reservation with my family just before Christmas to celebrate our daughters 30th birthday. My wife spoke with a member of their team as we were leaving to voice our concerns, and I also emailed. No response whatsoever. We had a reservation for 7pm, and arrived a little early so had a drink at the bar before being shown to our table as planned. The waiter was polite, albeit a little over-familiar at times. He asked what the occasion was, and we told him it was a 30th Birthday celebration. We provisionally ordered a bottle of wine, together with and our starters and main course. The food arrived pretty quickly, as my wife and daughter has ordered the Beef Wellington and we were expecting at least 45 mins before that arrived. It was considerably quicker. I then attempted to order more champagne and so pressed the highly publicised button to request. I tried 4-5 times over a 15-20 mins period, but despite the restaurant not being overly busy, nobody came. Eventually I had to flag down a waiter to order the drinks, which arrived following a further inordinate delay. The food was good, and I have no complaint there. However, the glasses that we had brought over from the bar were still on our table, accompanied by 4 champagne glasses, 4 wine glasses, and two beer glasses, and no attempt had been made to remove any of this prior to finishing the main course. When they were eventually removed, we were provided with dessert menus, but ultimately decided that we would leave dessert and instead order another bottle of wine and relayed this to our waiter. He then told us that he would need to ask if we were allowed another bottle as the table was required. It was 8.30pm! We have been at the table for a mere 90 mins! When he returned, I informed him that we did not want the wine and instead would be leaving and asked for the bill. It was clear at that stage that we were being hurried out the door, and this was not something that I appreciated or wanted to get annoyed about as I was with my family. We had now been made to feel incredibly uncomfortable at what was marked to be a celebration. I paid the bill and the service charge. As I say, the food was ok and I did not see fit to quibble over the charge in the circumstance. That being said, I am afraid that all of this put a real dampener on what was to that point a joyous evening. I eat out a lot with clients as part of my business but had never been to this restaurant. My daughter had, which is why she chose that venue above all others available in London. Personally, I will not be going back ever, nor would I recommend to others, which is a real shame as I had expected great things. It is also telling that despite informing the waiter of the occasion, not a single attempt was made by their team to acknowledge this, whereas the table next to ours had a dessert provided as part of a ‘Happy Birthday’. Instead, we were effectively being shown the door inside and hour and a half of being seated at the table. My daughter was incredibly disappointed, and the fact that they failed to even acknowledge our subsequent complaint is rather telling.

The unchanging interior is a novelty and the amusingly chaotic wait for the table has modest charm but neither are enough to make any excuses for the food. My starter of flaccid scallops wrapped in elastic bands (branded as bacon on the menu) was repulsive. The main, a fossilised lobster with red hot chips almost looked good after the scallops, but still ranked amongst the worst food I've eaten in London.
