The best restaurants serving British food in Bunhill Islington London

Visited the Sutton Arms twice whilst visiting family in Clerkenwell. What a great local pub with quality values. Staff are knowledgeable and the experienced owner, Mick, is a proper pub landlord of the old school: knows his clientelle well and is friendly and welcoming to first time visitors. Big selection of beers, all written on a blackboard, and 3 beautifully kept cask ales on handpull. I had Five Points Bitter, Five Points Pale, and JW Lees Bitter over my two visits. Proper pub: if I lived in the area, I'd be a regular.

Stopped here whilst on business. Good range of small plates. Very quiet as it was a Tuesday afternoon. Good WiFi and range of coffees.

Food was excellent. The place is warm and comfortable. Toilet facilities quite good.Prices on the high side as it seems about 35% was added to the bill for service charge - my share of it suddenly increased from about £22 to just over £30 , which I thought that was rather steep ! Staff were friendly and helpful. We were 15 minutes late and our table was held with no problem. I and one other of our party had the beef burger meal which was very good and others had the lamb hogget and haddock meals and were very complimentary about their quality. Overall I'd rate it at 9 out of 10 , William Thurl.

Food, service, and atmosphere are all good. The taste of cold beer is also excellent. Two thumbs up 👍

Vinimos aquí para un almuerzo de trabajo de Navidad. Éramos una fiesta de cinco y nuestra mesa estaba justo en el medio del pub, al lado de una gran fiesta que nos estaban sacudiendo para llegar al bar durante toda nuestra comida. Pedimos que nos trasladaran, pero el personal dijo que no. Parte de la comida estaba bien, pero el asado de pavo estaba frío como piedra y no era comestible. En general, muy decepcionante y caro para lo que era. Estaría encantado de venir a este pub a beber pero he tenido dos almuerzos de Navidad aquí ahora, los dos han sido muy decepcionantes.

Shocking rude violent staff inc bar staff! Such a shocking experience I would avoid this establishment. We had to call the police against the door staff as they assaulted us and physically through us out violently.

Good price for what you paid, food include drink, but be careful if you turn your back on your drink, they take the glass away from your table does not matter if the glass is almost full, and if you complain they tell you the glass was unattended, they took my glass just like that, and they just told me to order another drink. Sorry excuse for a manager

All day pub with lovely outside riverside (Wandle) and roof terraces with shady trees, partly covered, for good weather. Easily best outside space in the area, shared with a day time coffee shop next door. Tea comes in a tea pot. In a heritage area (Abbey Mills). Noisy inside in winter when busy as hard surfaces. Half price happy hour 6 to 7 (Mon-Wed) or 8 (Thu) is amazing value. 2hrs free parking in the "KFC" car park, or 3 hrs in Sainsburys. Updated Jan'25
