Great atmosphere. Stephanie is such a kind funny lady. Very welcoming establishment. Highly recommend a visit if you're in the Hartlepool area.

I visit Hartlepool from London several times a year and always make a beeline for this lovely cafe. The staff are friendly and the coffee is delicious - they know how to make a decent espresso which isn't a given in many cafes. I recommend the gorgeous vegan chocolate sponge pudding - ask them to heat it up. Goes nicely with coffee. Thankyou to all the staff.

Once again on a weekend visit to Hartlepool this restaurant ticks all the boxes boxes for a fine Sunday Lunch. No frills done very well and fabulous young and enthusiastic staff make it a pleasure to eat here.

One of our party is coeliac and the lady serving couldn't have been more helpful. Ingredients were explained and an allergy book bought out, but even better, they prepared a fresh breakfast of items of our choice in the kitchen so no cross contamination worries from the buffet. This was Christmas eve and the place was packed but they still took time and great care. Thank you

We were regular visitors until recently. Our last visit was terrible. We called for Saturday breakfast. Our breakfasts were thrown on the plates. Didn’t look appetising at all and didn’t taste much better. I was given a chipped cup with my pot of tea. When I complained I was told they were all chipped. We won’t be calling at The Conservatory again.

Got married here. Everything was perfect from the rooms the guests stopped in, the buffet at the wedding and all the staff were spot on.

We visited on a Sunday and the cafe was very busy, with only one member of staff front of house taking orders and making coffee / tea, serving cakes etc, so service was pretty slow. We had intended to have a snack, but nothing looked appealing, and it also looked expensive for what you got, so we just had a coffee. We love strong, robust coffee and ordered an espresso and americano, so nowhere to hide. The coffee was truly awful however - bitter and acrid; a couple of small sips and we just left it. It states that the coffee is bird life friendly and I whole heartedly commend that, we are RSPB members after all, but I don’t understand why that should compromise taste and quality. Suffice to say we’ll be taking a flask and picnic on our next visit and we went home after our walk to get a cafetière on the go. On the plus side, the young lady making the drinks was really pleasant and good humoured, despite being incredibly busy, and the design of the cafe, which overlooks the reserve is in a great location … if only the coffee was good.
