Visited today for the first time, what a lovely piece of chocolate cake and a delicious bowl of soup, made very welcome, will certainly be back when next in the area

Pub has a traditional and friendly feel to it. Really nice food and good value. Dog friendly as well. Would recommend.

Yo iba andando el Cleveland Way y había oído hablar de este lugar. Todo lo que he oído que era verdad. La cafetería funciona de 10:00 a 3:00 pm y es atendido por voluntarios del pueblo y la zona de los alrededores. Yo me comí un sándwich, un bollo y una taza de té en un precio más que razonable. Comidas ligeras disponibles. Los aseos estaban limpias así como todo el lugar. Si querías un libro de segunda mano o un souvenir del centro todo ello contribuye a los fondos de caridad. A lovely old country pub with a roaring fireplace and polite, friendly, professional staff. Visited for a meal after a hospital appointment with my mother due not not having the desire to cook on returning home and its by luck we have found somewhere we will 100% re-visit. On arrival the staff the were friendly and were informative about menu changes for the day, what they did, or did not have, which is good as some places only tell you they haven't got something as you order, which I find annoying. The menu had a very good selection of choice and caters for those wanting to spend on a budget, or those looking to push the boat out a little bit. I ordered the "small" hotshot parmo at a very reasonable price as I was not that hungry but to my surprise the portion was so big I had to ask for a box!..I think the large might even be a food challenge for some according to the waitress. I will point out that it wasn't just that the quality of the food that was good, the taste was beautiful and the portions were very generous. I plan on returning with my children (adults!) for a family event very soon!

Very pleased to see that this shop has reopened after a long closure. Got a tasty sausage and chips - they stop cooking fish when getting near closing times, I arrived at 18:50 and sausage and chips was the only dish on offer. Be careful of restricted opening hours, particularly early closing times in the evenings. Edit - since I updated the hours last week, they have changed again and the shop now closes at 7:00pm on Fridays.

IF YOU LOOK AT THE PHOTOS DONT THINK IT IS GOING TO BE LIKE THIS. Lots of homemade cakes ect there was a few cakes the latte coffee is out of a machine and not hot or nice the tea was not hot and the only piece of lemon cake my wife left half of it as it was tasteless.Really bad for £9 10p and 1 pm my wife went inside to use the toilet and said it looked more like a junkshop GIVE IT A MISS WE WILL FROM ON

We passed this place in the rain on our way to our holiday let and decided it looked so welcoming we would go there for dinner. We are so glad we did. Ian was so welcoming, as were the locals. The food was delicious and as warm as the welcome. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
