The best restaurants serving British food in Chorley North West

Went for a pre-theatre dinner. I was really impressed with their vegan menu!! As a vegan who’s allergic to chilli I’m always a little worried about eating out, but the team here worked so hard to make their meals work for me. I cannot recommend it enough to everyone, but vegans, this place is fabulous

Recommend the roast Christmas lunch - December 2024.

It was ok . Steak and chips . For some reason and I don't know why it just looked abandoned on the plate . Also asked for the steak to be cooked medium and it was definitely well done. Pretty tasteless really no fat attached .

Just returned from evening meal with family (7 Oct). 2 of us chose pork platter (special menu) which I anticipated to be a generous offering of pork fillet, sausage roll and black pudding - priced at £22. How disappointing- 2 pieces of mouth size fillets, a third of a sausage roll and a thin splattering of black pudding in the potato Rosti. It tasted nice and was well presented but feel totally ripped off with the meagre offering, I did inform a young waitress of my disappointment and asked her to relay my message to the chef. No apology, no feedback, nothing. We have had numerous family meals over many years and this was clearly sub-standard. The 3 other diners enjoyed their meals to provide balance. Perhaps the management team can consider and respond accordingly?

Nice farm shop with lots of choice but was disappointed to see quite a few imported out of season goods, especially as the website champions local produce with zero miles. Berries from Africa definitely don't fit this and even apples from France. Maybe it's just me but I shop in farm shops to support local farms, and limit my carbon footprint. What was local looked good and I was happy to purchase some veg and UK made pasta.

Can’t fault staff really attentive apart from the women in charge I found to be rude and needs to do a customer service course

First time to Elliot’s Bistro and we really enjoyed it. Nice ambiance for Christmas followed by a great meal, absolutely delighted. Well done to all the team including the really nice friendly staff and all the kitchen team.

As always, the Old Stable Vintage Cafe never letting you down 3 soups one with a sandwich tea and coffee and cakes very yummy go there and see for yourselves plenty of seating upstairs but a little cold in winter. But the soups keep you warm.

Just had a delicious Xmas lunch today at Shawhill with family and friends. Food was delicious. Beautifully presented and cooked. Service was good and staff friendly, cheerful and helpful. Would highly recommend and will be going again soon.

We got a voucher for a 3 course meal for 2 with processco. When we arrived we were seated quickly, drinks order taken and menu provided. We were told about the extra supplements for 1 starter, 2 of the mains and 1 dessert! Drinks came quickly and we had barely touched them before being offered more. Eventually the order was taken. We ordered all three courses at once. It was very slow but the food was lovely. The goats cheese tart to start was delicious. We both had suppliment mains (steak and duck) but they were really nice and the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. Somewhere that actually gives you enough toffee sauce! Amazing. We enjoyed it, with drinks (2 diets cokes and 2 alcholic) and the supplements it nearly doubled the cost of the voucher but we enjoyed it.
