The best restaurants serving British food in Preston North West

Came for food with family, the service was amazing and very fast. Food was spot on and amazing portion size for money. We will be returning in the future.

Been going here for years. Today, 11 of us were met by grumpy staff (not the young lady) and this was very disappointing. We had a 40% discount voucher but one of us paid without knowing. Manager refused to refund this. We will be taking our business elsewhere. Such a shame, it only takes one bad experience. We usually visit in an evening, perhaps different staff.

We visited the Leyland Lion with family and friends we've been a few times before and it's been great sadly on this visit it wasn't.The pub was very busy which is fine as it was a Friday afternoon.We needed a table that seated five but struggled to get one.After a few minutes we manged to find one however the table was still full of empty plates and food.I went to the bar and politely asked a female staff member could someone please come and clear and clean our table.At the time she was tapping away on a tablet I assume sorting out app orders.The look she gave me was awful she didn't even reply just nodded her head in what looked like annoyance that I'd interrupted her or even asked.She did come to clean the table but her face was now like thunder.Me and my wife thanked her and again got no response then all the while we were in the pub spending a lot of money she just scowled in our direction.This won't stop us visiting the pub in the future but staff need to learn to be polite.One more point is I understand it was busy but having worked a lot in pubs myself in the past there's nothing worse than saying to customers Who's next this just causes friction staff should be actually clocking who's next??..

A busy lunchtime, but despite other reviews the service was very attentive and timely. Lots of choice and variety on the menu...we opted for mackerel and beetroot salad and the salmon and crayfish salad. Both absolutely delicious, very fresh and generous portions. Blackcurrant and lemon posset dessert was to die for! Very good and already looking forward to our next visit!

I visited this morning the hotel to deliver something to one of the hotel guest where I received an excellent guest or stakeholder services by the reception member called Paul and one girl ambassador or receptionist at the hotel reception. They helped me out of the box which is very admirable. I found an impresive atmosphere and friendly communication between team members which indicates they have received a satisfactory training by the seniors. Went here as part of a large coach party, they were very organised and provided waiter service. There was a choice of three starters/mains & puddings all of which looked lovely and my choices and those of my party were lovely. Good service all over.

Fantastic place for celebrate my mum's 80th birthday. Superb service matched the equally superb food. First time dining here and very pleasantly surprised. You wouldn't expect to to be where it is, or for it to be so lovely inside. Great choices on the menu and specials. Very tasty and well presented food. We will definitely be back!

Very disappointing. Food woeful - not much to choose from and all very basic. Staff non -engaging and not very welcoming.

When it’s open it’s great! However, I’ve lost count the number of times we’ve come to visit the cafe and it’s been closed. Very disappointing and not a good way to manage a business. Given up going there now and it’s never open on a Saturday.

I have been a few times to Moor Nook chippy and have always found the staff lovely, the fish & chips dinner l get as a treat is worthy as a treat its great the amount of chips you get is big, l don't know how they give you so much at such a good price 100% will be returning Thank you Marie

Excellent quality ingredients. We had a bacon roll and a sausage and bacon roll with an extra hash brown which we added on top on the roll. Crispy bacon, perfectly cooked sausage on a crusty roll. Have been back to the train station since just for this. Latte was ok too.

Been there a couple of times with my baby boy on match day when it’s really busy and have been so helpful bringing me my drink (at their suggestion, not my request) so I don’t have to leave my baby even though they were super busy. Friendly staff, quick to clean up and yummy coffee. Definitely recommend!!!

Great place to come with family... There's usually 16 of us. Fab choices of food and drinks for all. Friendly atmosphere. Great value for money. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

First time here since they reopened the food and service was absolutely first class, keep up the great work

Been here a few times, and due to husbands illness...on my own. I have been treated so well, like we live here rather than visitors. Absolutely love this bar, thanks to bar staff, owner and locals. Wouldn't go anywhere else x
