The best restaurants serving British food in Birkdale Sefton North West

Called in for coffee and cake today for the first time, but it was terrific, and the environment was so relaxed and calm. I'm keen to go back soon with my other half to try the food menu, which looks great.

Lovely freshly made bacon barms muchbetter than those at Costa. Going back to try the pies some time soon

The Crown are doing a festive menu for December. Our booking was made back in October. Selections were required when booking. Shown to our table and waited a good 20 minutes. Starters of breaded mushrooms, and halloumi were cold, greasy and tasted like they were cooked the previous day. Mains of festive burger and the turkey roast of a similar standard. Dry uninspiring burger and a few fries , lots of space on the plate, no garnish. Turkey roast seemed to have been plated up and pinged up in a microwave. I'd think twice about returning here.

This was our 1st Pupkin event at Dobbies and it was very good. Our little dog Tilly loved it. The Pupkin Patch area is inside Dobbies thankfully given the terrible weather. Full of doggy goodies she was on her own little treasure hunt. Emily who greeted us and took us around the area made a fuss of Tilly who loved the attention. At the end Tilly received a toy which was of good quality and we had digital photos taken which we down loaded at home. Many thanks to Emily and the photographer who are clearly dog lovers who were super friendly and patient. More events like this please Dobbies.
