Dry Chips, look like they has been cooked yesterday !! Fish ok but not worth the high price. Prices are really high right now and the quality of take out food should be much higher for the cost ! Southport is a Seaside town and there is absolutely No excuse for bad Fish'n'Chips ! Not Recommended No idea why this place is scoring so high, must be lots of Fake reviews or people without taste buds !

Had the Christmas lunch yesterday. Really disappointed. Veg looked and tasted like they had been cooked hours earlier. Parsnips were burnt. Plenty of roast potatoes, one small stuffing ball but no pigs in blankets (I didn’t realise they were an extra as meal was advertised with all the trimmings). Turkey looked very much like it had been bought pre sliced and was tasteless. We had this meal at the ocean plaza Southport. I did tell the waitress about the veg, she said she would pass my comments on but didn’t hear any more from her.

Went there for dinner on Christmas eve with my in-laws, this is somewhere they've been having Christmas eve dinner for over 15 years, so I was very excited to see what the fuss was about. We had reserved our table months in advance for 7:30pm, when we arrived we were told our table wasn't ready, that we should go to the bar for a drink first. It got to 8:15, before we went to chase the manager, only to find that the table was ready at 8pm but no one had come to get us. Ridiculous behaviour, and by then we were starving. Once seated, it was gone 9:30 until our starters arrived, 2 hours after our original booking. The squid wasn't cooked properly, they took it off the bill in the end. In fairness the rest of the meal was very tasty. Definitely a 4 out of 5 for food. The service, terrible. The girl serving us threw our cutlery at us, literally. And when the food was being served they leant over us and our plates to put the food down, that's disgusting behaviour in a proper restaurant. Overall, a bad experience, waiting 45mins to be sat at our table, not having food served for soo long, having a starter served uncooked and over all poor service by inexperienced staff. Had this been a "cheap" restaurant I would have been so disappointed, but it's not. I could see that my in-laws felt letdown and embarrassed about the service as it was the first time I had visited the restaurant. Hopefully the service will be better next year if we come back.

Went for breakfast as we were staying in the travelodge which is practically next door... We googled the opening times and seen that it was open at 10am but it was actually open from 9am. It would be a good idea to have the opening times on the window to save any confusion. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast and at £4.95 I was expecting a vegetarian sausage at least but I got 1 egg, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and toast. My partner ordered the medium sized breakfast and he was looking forward to the fried bread...but when it arrived it was buried underneath tomatoes so it was totally soggy...both breakfasts looked like everything had just been thrown on the plate and different juices were swimming into each other which I don't like. Both breakfasts tasted ok but I think presentation needs to be looked at. The lady serving was friendly.

Went for a family lunch and had quite average food at an above average price. I was very unhappy about being told "I really must sort the track and trace thing" when I asked if they wanted my details.

Writing this whilst still at Casablancas but felt I had to. Walked in today after the news that the team from The Brass Pig had now taken over the kitchen. Lovely warm welcome from the lady behind the bar and from the gentleman who served us as well. Good beer, comfortable surrounds and a nice atmosphere. This is a really nice bar. However the genius here is bringing in food of such high quality at such a reasonable price. Went for the Cajun Chicken and the Pig Mac and both were amazing and it was so good to have exceptional food back in Southport. My one plea to the catering team. Don't leave me again Highly recommend. Will be back

Was getting hungry in Southport so went into Waterfield's for a snack. Tried the Lancashire pasty which was ok. Pastry was a bit thick and soft and filling was a bit salty. A bit pricey at close to £2!

Once again, the staff of Clouds did us proud. We (Southport Friendship group and Crosby Writers) took a combined party of 47 to our Christmas lunch, and along with other groups, they managed around 70. Food was well served and piping hot, and nothing was too much trouble for those serving. If your son or daughter was working there today, you should be very proud of them. The same goes for Paula, and those working in the back. Thank you all for making our day, special.

Food and staff good. Pub was overcrowded with extra chairs and tables meaning people couldn’t get into the seats of the empty tables as they were blocked by the people sitting behind them. Wetherspoons Southport looked dirty and unkempt, all 3 coffee machines didn’t work. The staff were polite efficient and pleasant and keep the place ticking over. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t go again. The owner makes lots of money and is treating his customers poorly . Outside the tables area was littered with stub ends of cigs why is he allowed to keep tables on the grass verges now covid is over?

Nice pub, but a bit chilly. We would have given 4 stars but my wife's dish was served on "Greek bread" that was too thick and hard, even I struggled to cut it with a knife and fork so it was left uneaten. However my Katsu curry with rice and chips was enjoyable but I recognised that the sauce was made from a block you can buy from an international food shop, it tasted very much like Chinese curry sauce. However it was the midweek special - two courses for £14:99 so I can recommend value for money and friendly service from the young lady behind the bar. Just avoid the Greek flat bread! I hope they change it to a bread that is thinner and capable of making a wrap from.

Visited at lunchtime today and was surprised how extensive the menu was and how reasonable the prices seemed. You can sit outside in the shopping centre or inside. We chose the last table inside - super clean - lady cleaning tbe tables was very efficient. Ordering at till was very easy and everything brought to the table. We had 2 main courses and 2 drinks for £16 - excellent value. The omelette served with chips and salad was amazing. Definitely be back.

I have always found this place to have a good atmosphere with lovely helpful staff and so it was today despite numbers being down - Storm Bert? Southport's "Fun Day"?? being responsible? - but why have the deeelish Fish Finger buttys been removed. One of our party was recommended it by a friend of hers but sadly she couldn't get to taste them. Good choice of wine by the glass, my avocado smash dish could have had a bit more avocado. Recommended overall
