My first visit to the Thatch in 20 years, but only such a large gap as I live in Ainsdale and it is a bit off the radar. Easy to park, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the Greene King cask ale was very well looked after. The five of us ordered main courses, the beef burger was great, so was the chicken, ham and leek pie but the three fish and chips disappointed. A decent sized portion with chips, mushy pees and a large pot of very nice tartare sauce, but the batter had been overcooked and was quite greasy
