Came for tea for my mum’s birthday and wasn’t disappointed. Visited before for drinks but this was my first for food. The price of the food is extremely reasonable but certainly no reflection in the quality of the food. All meals were excellent. Very tasty and fresh. We had home made chicken and black pudding pie, chicken tikka masala and fish and chips. All delicious. The bar is well staffed and staff are pleasant and helpful. The place was very busy so that speaks for itself. Didn’t have to wait long for our food. Would definitely return again.

Called in on a really cold morning for a tea and coffee to warm us up. We also had some lovely toasted tea cakes. The service was very prompt and very friendly. As we were visiting Southport, we were told some history and to have a look to the museum which we did. Thank you very much for a lovely, warm, friendly, relaxing time.

Very sorry to be writing this review. Past experience of Cranberries was always good but not today. Will not say anything about food that was fine but the staff were not. The waitress who. ‘Served’ us seem to find my sister and I an Intrusion to her conversation with another girl. Our food was virtually thrown onto our table and she never even looked at me as I payed again in her haste to get back to another conversation. She never asked if we had enjoyed lunch, thanked us for coming or wished us a pleasant day.in fact she was just plain rude. I will never be returning to Cranberries ever again, we found the experience quite unpleasant.

Christmas was around the corner as we walked in for our morning breakfast. Ann and the staff were very friendly and helpful in getting our orders. I was going to write a review when my parents and I found this lovely cafe in September 2024 and they both enjoyed their F&B here. I believe Ann has been here with the Kitchen for a great 11 years serving the great community of Formby. Well done to Ann and her team for providing such high standards of F&B. The place was heaving before I took the photo! All left with a happy and smiling face to start their day.

This is our 2nd visit for Sunday lunch. The food was really good. However the service was very slow this time. We waited an hour for our main after having our starter. We were also sat next to the door. Which on a very cold day in December was not ideal. Every time the door opened there was a cold blast. We were a table of 5 the previous visit it was just 2 of us. So not sure if this is the reason the food took so long. As the Kitchen only looks small.

Had the most amazing lamb shank. Cooked to perfection. Owner and bar staff are so friendly. Nothing is to much for them. Would definitely recommend and I will be back again very soon with family and friends

I love this place! I booked a tea party for my birthday. The table was set lovely with China plates, tea cups and saucers. Food was served on plate stands which was a great selection of sandwiches, pastries and cakes. I'm vegetarian, which was catered for and we finished with a scrummy cream tea consisting of scones, butter, jam and cream. Tea and coffee was plentiful and included in the price. We had a really enjoyable time. The staff are great and very attentive and had even put up birthday banners, which I thought was a lovely touch. I love the fact north perk cafe is a social enterprise and part of charity Ykids. Your money is helping disadvantaged children in the local area. There is always a happy, laidback, chatty vibe here. Please check it out, if you haven't already and support your local children. Fantastic job North perk and thank you for making my birthday a happy one x

Outstanding service, very good food, lovely surroundings. Could not fault this place. Will definitely return, well worth the short walk from Lord Street. Had the special 3 course menu for £24. Starters cauliflower, OH had ham hock. Cauliflower beautifully spiced, husband loved the ham hock. Mains £3 supplement for steak, I had gnocchi. Husband said steak is one of the best he has had in ages. The gnocchi was a very satisfying dish, gorgeous cameralised garlic, long stem broccoli with almonds. Very tasty. Puddings had were sticky toffee and lemon posset. Both divine. Generous portions. Very much worth it. Looking forward to returning to try the Sunday lunch. Would highly recommend.
