We had a fantastic lunch on a Saturday from the moment we booked the table, when we informed the restaurant how many of us there were and that there would be a small child, they offered the use of a high chair without even being asked. On arrival, they had thoughtfully put our large table with high chair in an area out of the way and with plenty of room. Then we had the food, great home cooked pub food and plenty of it and all dishes piping hot. Nice choices on the specials board. Would recommend the Dumb Bell to anyone , and will definitely visit again if we are in the area again

The old cafe is now empty and the new one is accessed via the shop. It's very large and well laid out. Was quite cold today so hopefully they've got heating for the future Newish menu, lovely gnocci

Chalfont St Giles Bowling Club ordered 41 takeaway portions of fish & chips. They were ready for collection on time and were individually boxed. At £8.50 each, these were good value and high quality and stayed hot. Staff were extremely helpful. We would recommend and use again.

Went there while walking our dog on Monday evening, looking forward to a drink on the front terrace. Walked through the front gate, with our dog on a lead, when two barking dogs came running from the pub. Both were off their leads and out of control and the larger one 'went for' our dog. Very unwelcoming. We decided to leave straight away and went to another pub. No-one seemed bothered. Disappointing as a few weeks ago there was a sign on the front door requesting that dogs be kept on leads. Won't be hurrying back.

All was well for us two in very quiet very old pub in characterful/charming old town. Food was tasty good and we were bit surprised there were only two other customers at lunchtime. Young men at bar were pleasant and there was a roaring fire in the grate on a chilly dreary day outside. Lots of very old ceiling beams and columns which unfortunately had been painted over . Looked it might be a better place to be in spring and summer as there's also a biggish garden at the rear. Worth revisiting?

What a welcome addition to Chalfont St Peter where you can get authentic Indian Food. The current crop of 3 restaurants in Chalfont St Peter are incorrectly named as Indian - they are Bangladeshi which is NOT INDIAN This saves us going outside the area for proper Indian food and boosts out own local economy We have told all the indian diaspora we know in the area to make sure it is a success and they are here to stay as running a restaurant these days is economically difficult

The food was fine but this pub is in a cellphone black spot (O2). After connecting to their Wi-Fi I got the message “no internet”. I was by myself and planning to catch up on emails while I waited to be served. It’s unacceptable to have a non functioning Wi-Fi in a cellphone black spot area when a pub down the road has a 500Mb free public Wi-Fi.
