The best restaurants serving British food in Cowfold, Shermanbury and West Grinstead Horsham South East

Visited on a Saturday evening for a couple of drinks and decided to order a starter each, the chilli chicken was fantastic along with my partners prawn skewer. We were so impressed by the starters we decided to stay for dinner, perfect fish and chips and very flavoursome pork belly tacos. Highly recommend

Popped in for lunch on our way home. Friendly welcome, cosy fire on a cold day. Excellent menu. Pulled lamb lasagne with Greek Salad delicious. Husband’s choice of BBQ ribs, best he’s had in a long time. Reasonable prices. Will definitely be back.

The pub was heaving this Sunday lunchtime which is usually a good sign. Our second visit was every bit as good as our first. The roast lunch was excellent in boyh quality and quantity. The Harvey's Sussex bitter perfect. But the staff who keep the whole place running like a well oiled machine deserve great praise, efficient but friendly too.

Unfortunately we felt on this occasion the food really was not up to the usual standard - whitebait over cooked - chips not their usual crispy delicious standard - but everyone has an off day and we said it would not deter us from returning HOWEVER we found out as we were leaving that after 14 years of trading the Orchard is due to close at the end of September 😔 So sad as , as a family some who are no longer with us it was always are “go to” place for a good quality home cooked meal . So what ever the owners plans are for the future we wish them good luck 😋

Have been here many times for lovely light lunches with a pretty salad. However that has now all gone. Lunches are awful and badly cooked and served with. CRISPS. Tuna melt lunch was horrid. Will not eat here again. Why change something that was so nice.?

The Old barn looked after us so well for our Christmas Lunch. 20 of us booked in and have a full Christmas dinner, and lovely puddings. Very helpful on Dietary needs The table was all set for Christmas, Mulled wine on arrival. Lovely food and service. Thank you. Our 3rd Year for Christmas lunch and we will be back next year.

Always consistently good food, best plum tomatoes ever, staff generally happy and friendly, can get very busy, and the people that go there are nearly always happy friendly and chatty…. Fills you up for the day. Great value and very unique

Lovely staff but the pub was super cold and food poor. Don’t think they have a proper chef which for the price they should do

Came along as a group of six to celebrate my birthday. The service was speedy and friendly. The food was excellent and generous portions to say the least. First time in a long time that we’ve been here but we will definitely be back soon!
