The best restaurants serving British food in Isle of Wight South East

Thank you to Mark and Luci for making our week in Newchurch fabulous once again. Your food is simply wonderful, steak perfectly cooked to my taste, the salmon was that good I had it twice, all the food and drink well priced, we all had a great time. Your team and all the locals made us feel so welcome and we’ll definitely be back

Pretty good food and great location. Friendly service. Nice decor. One thing noted about service, was when our drinks were delivered, the waitress handed the drinks out with her fingers holding the rim of our glasses. Was a little off putting. Other than that, we will return.

Extremely attentive and friendly service; absolutely delicious dishes at fair prices and good portion sizes.

Absolutely delicious Christmas Dinner with partners family. Have been Armathwaite hall twice in the past, along with Inn on the Lake and Lodore 3 times and the Bower House was the best by a million miles

The roast dinner at the Crown and Bear really doesn’t disappoint….. certainly the best on the Island so far !!! Huge portions perfectly cooked, three meats lamb, beef and chicken. Defo no room for pud x 😋

We all love Rios burgers but since my daughter had her first one she hasn't stopped going on about it. BEST BURGERS EVER! Enjoyed by all of us! Thank you

Was closed at around 10.00am, when we came past at 11.30, it was open.

Beautiful, cosy venue. Super friendly staff, fantastic menu for both lunch and dinner. Amazing food. Their roast dinners are one of the best on the Island!

Please have the directions on google maps fixed and put the boards on the streets near the entry path or people get lost. I did not get a chance to enjoy what I saw on reviews as the kitchen was closed early.

Good restaurant with a smallish but varied menu (most meals £15-20), just a 10 minute drive from the ferry port. Food for 5 took about 10-15 minutes and was very tasty. Only complaint was that they make you sit in the bar area if you have a dog. It wasn't too bad but definitely less comfortable than the main seating area.

Crab and mackerel right by the sea. What more could you want? Not cheap, but nobody wants a cheap crab pasty and everything is here is top quality and is really good value. The wine is good quality too and compliments the food. Also, the setting is fab and with access a bit challenging you feel as if your meal is well earned.

Only had drinks, but the food looked great. Good variety including vegetarian . Staff are friendly and welcoming, I will definitely go back to eat there.

Wonderful, great value little cafe that I would absolutely go back to. Portions were very generous and ingredients were fresh and good quality.
