Good food although not particularly cheap for the quality and portion size, bearing in mind the competition from elsewhere in the village. We really enjoyed starters of carrot bhaji and scallops…. Whilst rather small in size they both packed unusual, delicious and great flavour and we actually preferred these dishes to our main courses of lamb rump and aubergine with polenta. It’s a pleasant dining room but a little lacking in atmosphere during our visit.

We enjoyed a return visit to Horsted Place and once again had a very enjoyable stay On arrival we were warmly greeted and allocated the Tower Suite. The room is spacious with extensive views of the surrounding land. The furnishings were of a high standard and the king size bed was very comfortable. We dined in the Pava restaurant and were cared for by Emily who is a credit to the Hotel being polite, friendly and helpful. Credit must go to the chef and his team for providing our beef and pork meals that were of excellent quality quantity and presentation. We enjoyed our breakfast that prepared us fully for the day ahead. It was nice to catch up with Adam the manager and be informed of the positive changes being made since our last visit. Horsted is a very special hotel with great staff and it's always a treat to visit and we look forward to another stay very soon

Went Friday night with friends, busy, had a pint of Hawkstone Pale Ale, really good! Thanks Jeremy Clarkson✊🏻Then had the best plate of pub food I’ve had in ages, Lambs Liver and Bacon with caramelised shallots and veg, it was delicious. Great vibe in there, nice crowd. Keep pubs alive so people can gather and revolt!

This pub, although warm, felt like a colder reception than the dementors welcoming someone to azkaban. A bunch of people just stared at us. The beer that I had tasted like they hadn't cleaned the pipes since Christmas 2023 and when I let them know all they said was that it was done a couple days ago, I said this quietly so noone else could here was trying to help them out. When I was given my fish and chips I was given an empty jar of tartar sauce and then when I asked for more I was given a mostly empty one anf then just gave uo. The burger was dryer than gjandis flip flops and tasted like those little Styrofoam packing things you get in fragile boxes. The sandwiches and the steak and ale pie was really good though. So we're the chips Avoid

Quite honestly shocked. I have not eaten this well in some time, nor have many restaurants met even the bar for what you expect. Hartfields staff, cooks, waiters/waitresses are beyond exemplary. And honestly the food had me riddled with goosebumps from the first bite. Outstanding food and service.

Sadly a disappointing family reunion lunch. Prawn cocktail costing £9.95 contained three prawns (no joke) and risotto requested vegan still had bits of goat cheese in there that hadn’t been fished out. Would have complained if we weren’t out for a celebration.

42 of us went for a celebratory meal and I have to say it was delicious. Everyone received their meal within a few minutes of each other, which is a major feat in itself. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious and very good value for money. We honestly couldn't fault it and would highly recommend. I personally had the Chicken Supreme which was absolutely beautiful.

I visited twice on my visit back to the UK. After many recommendations to visit this lovely little tearoom. The sandwiches and scones are delicious and the afternoon tea was a delight. I took home some freshly made Cornish pasties for my husband and they were eaten with gusto. The atmosphere is cosy and inviting and they are helpful and friendly. I will definately visit again on my next trip back to the uk and will recommend to friends.

Dreadful weather washed away plans to walk up on the Downs after lunch. Fortunately, The Blacksmiths Arms made up for it with a friendly welcome and a fine meal that kept us occupied. Small but varied menu. Five of us tried three different Caribbean dishes. Meat and fish. All good. Mutton curry was a delight with the rice and bean side. As suggested, Harvey's best bitter proved to be the perfect accompaniment. Compliments to the chef.
