I have eaten here several times over the last few months. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and the food to be enjoyable. My complaint is that it is so cold inside. I have sat in different places in the restaurant and in the bar area, but its cold everywhere. The last time I was there I noticed a portable heater had been positioned on the floor in the bar area. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I have felt cold enough to keep my coat on. This is a shame as until something can be done about this I won't go back.

We held my husband’s 50th birthday party in the Royal Oak’s Teepee on a freezing January night and it was a great success. The roaring fires as our guests approached the Teepee created a very welcoming and special atmosphere and the fire inside kept everyone warm. Everyone has dressed warmly (it was around -2!) but coats weren’t needed inside the Teepee. Nola was great at keeping everyone’s drinks topped up and generally making sure everything ran smoothly. The food was also very good. We had a really fun evening and all our guests loved it. Would highly recommend the Teepee area at the Royal Oak for a party - a special venue.
