Set in beautiful rural surroundings, The Walnut Tree offers a warm idyllic charm quintessential to the British pub. A beautiful beer garden, warm and cosy interior, totally amazing food and a great pint. Dog and family friendly. Always a good welcome at this home away from home 🏡 🍺

Great learning ground for our future chefs and waiting staff. The dining room lacks decor and ambience. Friendly students and lecturers. Please support this fantastic collage. Photos are from their Christmas evening.

Food was absolutely delicious, Also shared a few puddings on this visit, The warm brownie was sensentational and the baklava was yummy. Always guaranteed an amazing meal. Lovely small restaurant with a casual atmosphere, perfect.

I am extremely picky and will usually find something to criticise, but we had an absolutely perfect evening here. I had only called to book a table here at around 1pm on the day and they missed my call and then returned the call straight after. So thank you. Food came out in good timing and was faultless, very generous portions. Chocolate cake was delish. Clare was very attentive, fab service. Thank you.

We went today for lunch as a part celebration of my birthday. We had booked table. When we arrived restaurant was quiet with one table with maybe 6 or 8 people. We were warm welcomed and offered a choice of place where we want to sit. Food menu was delivered quickly. After few minutes we were asked about drinks. We had beer from tap and a raspberry mocktail. It was only one beer on offer from tap, but it was nice, fresh, citrusy and vibrant. Mocktail was good too. Soon we were asked for a food. I choosed steak and ale pie with mash potatoes and onion gravy with tenderstem broccoli and my partner shaksouka. I am sorry to say but we were very disappointed with food. Shaksouka was like tin of chopped tomatoes thrown to the bowl with cinnamon and hot paprika powder with two overcooked rubbery eggs. Completly oversesoned and tasteless. No cream fraiche or yoghurt (it said is coming with) and instead of foccacia it was like 3 slices of ciabatta. I got a pie which I barely found any pieces of steak (pie was factory made not homemade) swimming with brown water called gravy (almost cold) probably made from powder and no signs of onions, tasteless broccoli and only good point was mashed potatoes, nice and buttery. Waiting time it was like 30 minutes which is disgrace. Two chefs on the kitchen without hats and constantly chewing or munching something. Very unprofessional. I am sorry to say that as I am chef too. We visited this place like year ago and was much better. It is definitely overpriced.
