Love the food, relaxing environment. Best coffee in the area!!!! Polite and helpful staff. Cheese board is usually good, blue and brie were brilliant, cheddar too mild for my taste. 30.1.24 - had a breakfast with my better half. She enjoyed her poached eggs, I went for the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, lovely, swift service, friendly helpful staff. Nice and warm on a cold day next to the log burner . Still the go to place in cullompton for food. 19.9.24 - dropped in for a piece of cake and coffees , espresso decaf was great and had an ordinary Americano , tasted great. My dad went for the hot chocolate which got his recommendation . Great place , good value but not the cheapest. Still awesome. 6.1.25 - popped in for a brunch and coffee, went for the awesome smashed avocado with bacon and poached eggs. They get it right every time. Relaxed environment, friendly staff.

We live locally and have given this place a visit on a good few times so the staff sort of know us. On the good side As long as they are not busy things are wonderful. Reasonable prices for fair to generous sized portions. Staff friendly and helpful (one of us has dietary problems). Not too long a wait for our orders to be served. First class carvery on days that it is served. On the bad side. Rude, rude, rude On three occasions we were treated very badly when they were busy possibly because they simply did not have enough staff to cope. On all occasions they were fairly quick to get us seated with or without the menu. Then we were ignored. No eye contact, no apologies or explanations as to how long we were going to have to wait. On one occasion we were told to sit at a particular table when there were plenty empty. Explanation was that they had not had the time to clean/prepare the others. Then we were left. Another time we were sat waiting to place an order when a waitress was standing at a table next to us idle chit chatting away for an indecently long period to the couple (sounded like regulars). Third time we had chosen our meal at our table and had been waiting some time for waitress to take our order when at least half a dozen workmen walked in and placed their orders at the counter. After that we were ignored/forgotten. On all three occasions we walked out. Such a shame as they can be so good and yet so bad. Think we might give them a chance once again but I suspect it might be some time before we do that.

After being in hospitality for over 20 years it takes plenty of experience to be as adaptive and versatile as these employees. Seeing 2 of them jump between reception, restaurant, bar and serving food was impressive. Whilst I don't agree it's fair to allow people to be overwhelmed and stretched just for the sake of saving a few ££ as it subsequently forces people to jump between roles. These two ladies in particular handled it graciously and perfectly so well done! However it is not a fair work practice hence the score

Rude, arrogant and insulting to the extreme. Very poor service and felt very intimidating. The others in the town are far superior
