Lovely tearoom with a superb selection of homemade cakes! Served by a very friendly lady. Lunch and breakfast offerings looked excellent.

We had a great Carvery lunch on a Sunday a couple if weeks ago. There were 9 people plus a dog and this was accommodated very easily. Service and food was very nice and we'll definitely go back again.

This was the worst Sunday lunch I’ve ever had! Beef un-cuttable, even with a steak knife! turkey had a nasty flavour. Landlord arrogant when I told him and rude. Expensive and simply awful. NEVER AGAIN!!

Lovely little spot next to the canal tow path with easy parking. Good range on the menu and nice outdoor but covered seating options. However it definitely feels like your classic captive audience cafe, being that there are few other options nearby. We had a brie, chutney and bacon panini (around £9) and a bacon bap with added sausage (also around the £9 mark). The food was hot and tasted good but for £9 somethings felt lacking. The bacon fat wasn't trimmed, there was no kind of garnish and for close to a tenner I'd expect a better quality bread roll. In truth, it looked like something you might find in a lay by than in a cute cafe, but it did taste good and both bacon and sausages were good quality. Similarly, the brie was good and the panini was tasty. I think small touches could hugely elevate the offerings to reflect the cost, as our two sandwiches and two coffees cost £22, which seems a lot.

Went for a family meal . Not again Tomato soup turned up as mushrooms soup eventually replaces by tomato soup Bread with the soup was very ahhhh!. Bread with another starter was so bad even the waitress apologised. My timid mother in law even complained to the waitress over her bread. She would not say boo to a goose. Blue cheese with mushroom , no blue cheese taste must have passed the blue cheese over with it wrapped in plastic Vegetables with main meal . Roasted potatoes over hard. Cauliflower cheese veg came when we were half way through main course and the Yorkshire pudding was ultra small and tepid. No horse radish with beef Was told by a family member their salmon was tasteless We were asked for drinks when we came in Attention to next round of drinks big fat zero, We had to ask for a water refills three times before it was actioned. Desserts service too slow Apple crumble, please note less crumble more apple. Sorbet too sharp. Had to find manager to get the bill paid

Lovely people can't do enough to help you and serve you. Fab carvery on Sunday, they catered for our dairy and gluten intolerant family. Made us feel really loved.
