Better than any Carvery I've had more like a traditional home cooked roast dinner with locally grown vegetables

As a type 1 diabetic, Cornish pasties are a rare treat for me, so when I do get one, it's important to get it right. This place did not disappoint! I got the giant pasty, and it was delicious - exactly what I think a pasty should be like. What's more, the friendly gentleman serving us went out of his way to find the carb content, meaning I can dose my insulin correctly. Fantastic! 😊

Went here for the first time for a special occasion in September. The food was fantastic- I had the most amazing dhal, husband had duck which he loved. Good, unobtrusive service and a pleasant environment.

We went for a family meal and it wasn't terrible. The carvery was very good and the place wasn't over busy. They've just had the car park extended so there was plenty of parking. The non carvery meals were a bit of a disappointment. The beer battered cod and chips wasn't great and was overpriced. The waitress was pleasant and attentive but when I paid, a different server was a little heavy on the hint for a tip which I also didn't like. I was going to leave one but this changed my mind. Mixed feelings about this place and I would have given a slightly higher rating if our experience was slightly different.

I organise a Christmas get together each year for colleagues both working and retired. This year I decided to try it at The Princess Royal. What a good choice, all we want is a venue that serves good beer , you don't have to wait ages at the bar and will provide us with Sausage and Chips for us 35 guys. Kris & Claire at The Princess Royal couldn't have been more accommodating or helpful. We had a wonderful evening great atmosphere, Good Bear and Nice simple food just perfect.
