Oh my, what a treat , called in for a cream tea, delicious beyond words.. Best scones we have ever had, served with clotted cream and scrumptious whortleberry jam....real leaf tea accompanied, served by a very nice gentleman , who enlightened us on all the local fruits. Absolutely a must if you are in Porlock, we look forward to returning

What a find!! Can not recommend this Tea Room highly enough. We’ve had lots of cream teas over the years, but Bramdowns is the best ever. The homemade scones were amazing. The service was first class and so friendly. The decor and the crockery are lovely, also with the music in the background you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Thoroughly enjoyed it, so much more than just a cream tea. Long May you continue, Ladies. Next time we’re passing by Porlock, Bramdowns, is a definite stop off.

We had another excellent meal at the ship, the team as always work hard to provide a warm and welcoming place to take a seat and enjoy the great food on offer, good selection of ales and everyone is treated as an equal.. we had the lamb rump and a venison burger both top class, had a sweet each which finished the meal nicely

What a fabulous lunch. There were eight of us who ordered a variety of sandwiches, toasties and cream teas. Food was excellent and great value for money. Service was quick and friendly. People have written reviews complaining about the decor which is actually very tastefully done. Besides, with such great food in a beautiful setting why worry about the decor!

Was really disappointed with the service, was not what I was use to, ( usually one of our best places to visit ) there were different people running it from the kitchen and they had no idea whether they were coming or going, the ( cook ) was walking around the small prep area stuffing food in his mouth while prepare drinks and food for customers. While the lady that served me at the counter questioned everything I asked for then passed the order to the ( cook ) and I’m sure I was over charged as she seem to start putting prices through the till then walked away from the till when she came back asked had i paid being truthful I said not yet so she put more prices into the till, should have challenged it but she already seemed confused as to what she was supposed to be doing didn’t want to upset her more. It is doubtful we will return.

We managed to get into the Bottom ship on Friday 14th December, we were glad to have our annual winter visit as the weir was having issues with electric and a new generator had been put in that morning. The foid we has was excellent the beer as normal presented well and the warmth from the establishment is always heart warming, thank you to the staff to the lovely lady who's name we didn't catch and louis who has been an asset to the pub for our visits for the last 4 years, long may you continue to honour the traditions of Exmoor

We stayed for the weekend and ate there for every meal - breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was a great selection of good, straightforward, well cooked and delicious food efficiently served by friendly helpful folk. There was a delightfully friendly atmosphere throughout the whole of our stay. We will definitely be visiting again, the sooner then better!
