What a great place! Perfect location to be able to walk in to town. They have parking and the breakfast was excellent.

Fantastic fish & chips. Best around by far.

Wow hidden gem. Had a fresh mint tea and omelette with coleslaw and salad. Huge portion! Will be back 👍

Great takeaway, chips were fab, nice crunch on the battered sausage and the burger was very fresh and tasty. (This was after a 15min drive home) The young lass behind the counter was also very nice and helpful (hope you made the bonfire!!!!)

OH MY GOODNESS, 20****** RATING We were on the way home to Devon from Southampton and we said we would stop for tea and have a chip supper that we could park up and eat in car. I used Google maps and found this little place, oh my gosh this is a cracker of a place, we ordered the following. 2 x The christmas jumbo pig in blankets in batter 1 cod roe 1 cod bites And 2 medium chips ( yes your heard right a medium) 1 curry sauce Now where shall I start, living all over the country and being the Food connoisseur I am (greedy piggy) I've had chips from every corner, however Callaways chips aren't chips they are heavenly golden nuggets that you just have to try, the other half is so fussy with chippy chips but he ate his and then was fighting my hands for more 😂 sir nick my chips loved his jumbo pig in blankets and so did our son, it was piping hot though so needed a min to cool down same as my roe. The youngest said his cod bites were massive. When I asked everyone what their favourite part was and before I finished asking they all scream the Chips 😂 needless to say that's all we've spoken about for the past 20 mins, so much so we've said that it's worth the drive of a hour and half to get chips all day long, so now we have our weekends planned 😆. And if we were to buy that from our local chippy, it would have cost upwards of £38, but this cost £23 for 4 meals absolute bargain. The only things negative i have to say is the chip shop is a very small outbuilding, so no inside area, all done at the window hatch, can be very cold waiting in this weather, and the fat used to fry the sausages and roe was a little burnt, I could taste it as well as smell it, but it's easily done very easily done! I want to say thanks Callaways for the first time in 10 years I've actually eaten all of my chips shop tea and even wished I had more. You have a new loyal customer who's going to be travelling from Teignmouth to the shop once a month on a weekend so we can all enjoy the most amazing chips ever! Sorry there's no pictures everyone but they were far too nice to stop eating for pictures

Really pleased. Popped in because was only place open. Was not dissatisfied or disappointed. Chips were amazing, nice Sausages and curry sauce was incredible. very fair value too! Will be back

Amazing food. Arranged to meet family there on the way to Ashcombe. Really friendly staff, very comfortable and the best liver and onions ever. Would highly recommend.

Excellent little coffee shop next to the river Severn Lydney lock. Friendly staff, small snack menu with gluten free options including my wife's best ever gf carrot cake which they make themselves . Great coffee with outside picnic tables and lovely views.

Only been once staff friendly And the fish cake I bought was lovely could of been home made not sure Been back to this chippy nearly once a week sincemy first review for my fish cake treat

The food is amazing here highly recommend it. In fact I've gone two days in a row before it's that good! Haha Top recommendations that's I have had - Chicken chunks Fish and chips The sausages, are by far the best sausages I've ever eaten in any chip shop. Google map is not updated. It is showing open but in fact its closed. We have only managed to see the cats outside of the building via the covered overhead catwalks. They are very cute!
