Me and 2 of my brothers, went there, on a Saturday afternoon, while the market was on. They had ran out of the pork loin, so me and one brother opted for the homemade beef pie, with carrots, peas,New potatoes and gravy,my other brother opted for the not so small breakfast. There was about 20 minutes wait,as it's cooked as ordered, but it was well worth it! The food came out, piping hot, the pie filling was in abundance, plenty of carrots, peas and lots of gravy. It's a good job that it was piping hot, because, by the time that I finished the meal, it was still warm. Highly recommended, plus the place is very clean, the staff are very friendly and there are toilet facilities, and also a ground floor cafe, aswel.

This is a litte gem of a cafe in unusual surroundings. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We only had coffee (which was very good) but the cakes and other snacks looked, and smelled, delicious.

Absolutely superb fish and chips (gluten free). Light crispy cider batter and crisp chunky chips with garden peas and generous portions. The food was freshly prepared and piping hot. The chef checked that we were enjoying the food. Definitely check out this pub as it has recently changed ownership. Good selection of beers if that is your thing. Also noteworthy is that we ate around 5pm - many pubs aren't serving food at that time on a weekday.

I visited the White Lion with my three year old son yesterday evening when stranded in Leominster due to flooding. Initially we went in for a hot drink and a chat about the condition of roads, hoping other travelers might help us to work out how to get home. The pub staff (and customers) were all uniformly welcoming, and didn't mind that we weren't drinking. They made my son welcome and even let me bring in his food from the car (as we arrived too late for food). They also helped us out with local information and it soon became apparent that we weren't going to be able to leave Leominster that night, and furthermore that there was no accommodation available in the whole town. I was mentally bracing myself for a night in a very small, very cold car with a three year old, when the landlady came up to me entirely of her own accord and offered us a room for the night. She had already made this offer to a couple of other stranded travelers, and accommodating us as well required some reshuffling, but she is a really kind soul and genuinely wanted to help us all. We wound up sleeping on a comfortable mattress in a private room with access to a bathroom and kitchen area. It was basic, but a real blessing for two stranded travelers - and instead of having a harrowing experience my son and I both had a good night of sleep and were able to travel safely home in the morning. I know at least one other traveler took up the landlady's kind offer and had a reasonable night of sleep. I am now really wishing I had asked the name of the landlady, and her equally kind husband - they did a really good deed by letting us stay safely in their spare room and I am extremely grateful. It is rare to meet someone so kind and thoughtful. THANK YOU!
