The best restaurants serving British food in Newcastle-under-Lyme West Midlands

Had lunch here on Sunday with a friend. We both had the chicken roast dinner, which was very tasty. Love that it comes with cauliflower cheese and a jug of extra gravy! Only criticism was that the chicken was very tough, which we made staff aware of. Didn't spoil our overall enjoyment though. Starter of dill and salmon terrine was excellent and beautifully served. Loved the ambience of the restaurant, and the service was very good too.

Surprise family Sunday lunch to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday. Everything was just as we hoped it would. Wonderful food, lovely atmosphere, friendly efficient service but not in any way intrusive, fresh flowers on the table. It was the perfect place - as relaxed and comfortable as being at home, but no one had to cook or wash up!

Have been a few times last time celebrating my husbands 70th birthday tonight our book club had our Christmas meal there the food was excellent seving all us ladies no one waited so excellent service the staff are very friendly the table was decorated beautifully and we all had a fantastic night thank you to everyone xx

Thanks Nikki for yet another amazing afternoon tea!! Once again I am truly spoilt with such an amazing selection in this box. Unlike other afternoon teas I've had before @ Nikkis you get a good selection of savourys and sweets as at times I've found with other places it's mainly cakes. In this box I had A selection of sandwiches, Sausage Rolls, Pork and Pickle Pie, Quiche, Cheese & Bacon Swirl, Crisps, Cheese & Crackers, Cheesecake, Trifle, Fruit & Nut Scones , a cup Cake, Lemon Drizzle Cake & 1 Fruit Cup I absolutely love your homemade sauage rolls too. Everything is all homemade and absolutely lovely. You will not be disappointed. This is the best afternoon teas I've had and will be very hard to beat 😍 Thanks very much for mine and mums boxs ❣️

Myself and a group of friends came for a truffle making party at Mejoolies and we had so much fun! Kerry and Lindsay were so friendly and welcoming. We all had an amazing time, tasting, making and decorating chocolate! It was a brilliant morning, would recommend to anyone looking for something fun/different to do for a celebration. Thank you so much 💙

Came to castle oatcakes this morning from cannock after watching a video from Eddie Hall on YouTube the food is amazing great value and very quick service greeted by friendly staff would recommend to anyone a************

Me and 2 friends had boxing day dinner today the boiled potatoes where hard the sprouts where not done gravy not very nice I could go on about the food all in all not worth the money. We where not offered the mulled wine or the mince pies and not enough brandy sauce I the pudding.

Had Christmas meal with friends and family. Lovely food. Started and main were really nice. Fresh and nicely cooked. Only thing I could say was fudge cake wasn’t really fudge cake more of a chocolate sponge. Overall would definitely recommend and would definitely go again.

We have lived in this area for 15 years and passed the Whitmore Tea Rooms many times. Today we stopped and visited the tearooms for lunch. I was very impressed with the ambience of the place, lovely bone china on the table. The good was absolutely first class and plentiful. A good selection of beverages both alcoholic and non- alcoholic were available. The staff were very friendly and courteous and the bill I thought was very reasonable for what we had for go our lunch. We will definitely be returning soon !

Booked a Christmas meal for 37 people of mixed abilities, the food was fabulous and all served piping hot. The staff went above and beyond treating people with disabilities with the upmost care and compassion, nothing was too much trouble. The manager was easy to communicate with and he made sure everything we had ordered was dealt with. A huge thank you for a great Christmas meal.

So delicious! Went in for brunch/late breakfast, we had double bacon,sausage&egg oatcakes. Cooked perfectly! My only downpoint is the seating area could of done with a mop of the floor. Returning very soon! A bonus point for the free chocolate pikelets!x

Perfect place to relax and enjoy good food. Leek and potato soup excellent. New to Audley and glad I found a local place that serves good coffee and food.

New management, very friendly and welcoming pub. Lovely pie with gravy and fries. Reasonably priced drinks and a quiz on tuesdays. Support your local. Lovely wsrm log burner, very cosy.

Great friendly pub with good cosy atmosphere. Staff are friendly and efficient. Food is o erall very yood though prices like most places have increased. Paid £19 for a mixed grill which was basically a cooked breakfast with peas and a very small steak. No chicken portion and steak only 4oz though have to say was cooked beautifully . One of party had his usual liver and mash though we could see gravy looked a bit congealed and not the dark lovely usual. We gave feedback to Mike behind bar but don't think he believed us or wanted to accept any feedback that was slightly negative though to be fair he did say he was sorry if that was our opinion. Would return but bit more careful about what order.
