Superb bar probably my favourite in worcester, fast service even when busy, Good beers. Guinness here I find is,some of the best in worcester, prices are not too bad. But then everwhere is dear these days compared to years ago. Loafs of seating. Sport. And chatty people what's not too like for an afternoon or evening beer

I loved this pub when we visited on sunday 27th Oct. It has so much character. It's oozing with architectural history; you're surrounded by oak beams and low ceilings. The regulars are friendly. It's dog friendly. The bar staff are friendly. It has live music Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. It has a pool table. The loos are clean and and well appointed. I read the last couple of reviews, and it saddens me that they want to put people off visiting this historic tavern. My experience was the total opposite.

Asked for it to be warmed and was told it had been. Pasty was cold. Staff serving were not friendly at all. Brownie I had was really small and a friend’s was much bigger for the same price. Will be going to Greggs next time!

Due to hold ups further down the M5 we managed to pull off to Worcester to wait for traffic to move again. Good move. Came across Good Roots. Enjoyed our lunch and would come back again

I do not normally write negative reviews on any platform, but I was a little surprised at the "service" I got today from the House of Fraser in Worcester. I called to see if they had a console available; on the phone, they confirmed they had several, when I arrived 45 minutes later, they had been sold out for a few days. Ok, not pleasant, but fine. Then went to look at shoes, found a pair, and waited in the queue for 20 minutes. As I finally approached the till, the woman said she had to switch tills, so could I (and a lady behind me) follow her through the store. We did only to arrive at a till with another long queue and asked me to go to the back. I didn't make a scene, but I had to pick up my daughter, so I couldn't wait again. I handed her the shoes saying I couldn't wait again, and she seemed astonished and put off that I wouldn't. I understand it's a busy time, but I am not surprised that so many of these stores are closing; the level of service and general comprehension of putting people out was quite shocking. I know it won't put a dent in their margins, but I was planning on spending 600+ today, and now other shops in the area will get the money, which is better for the local economy anyway. Taught me a lesson to stay local. However, I will say the man who helped me find the shoes was very accommodating, but that won't get me to return. C'est la vie

Food was very expensive for what it was at £15.29. Had a vegetarian roast. The vegetables were over cooked, including burnt roast potatoes and mushy veg. The vegetarian gravy was just thick and lumpy and would hardly pour out of the jug. To top it off the barman could do with training in how to talk to people, very rude! I was told ' it's not rocket science!' when asking where to wait for my vegetarian meal. I won't be going again and advise other people not to go too, especially if you're a vegetarian!

I have visited this establishment on a couple of occasions and both times the staff has been very friendly, coming to the table to take the order, but the food has been very slow to arrive and was of a poor standard, not hot (just tepid). The staff didn't come to check if everything was OK and when I commented on the food I was told "well if you had let us know we would have done something about it"> Come on Guys, how about you check with your customers if everything is OK and then act on it if not. I will not go back.
