Had a very good experience at the boat and railway, good food pleasant staff and excellent beer. Nice atmosphere next to the canal. I would certainly visit again

Went here for our wedding anniversary meal. My husband's steak was fine. My vegan pasta dish came with normal parmesan cheese on ( I am checked it was vegan before I ordered and it clearly stated vegan on the menu), replaced with weak bland tomato soup with pasta in, that was taken away and replaced with the other vegan option of burger and chips. Picked the burger up and it literally dripped a pool of oil/water onto the wooden board it came on. No sauce dressing which it said on the menu. The waiter and manager were very polite and professional. Chef needs retraining or sacking! I ended up with a Tesco meal deal in the hotel room. Avoid if vegan

Dropped in for an early Xmas lunch, the food was tasty, well cooked and plentiful. We both enjoyed the turkey main and a sweet and walked out happy . Lovely attentive staff and reasonable prices. Would go again.

Ordered a beef sunday roast, Unfortunately, the first time it arrived, the whole meal was cold. Reordered my meal and asked for some 'hot: gravy as I was worried that I would have to send it back again. Still not hot, but I was hungry. When asked how my food was I mumbled that it was okay. The service staff was sympathetic and knocked a little bit off the bill. Unsure that I would go back.

We took friends here last year and had an amazing meal. Decided to go back. Food was rather dry with very little gravy on the Sunday roast. Parsnip was a little under cooked. Staff were friendly enough but not the best food and probably won’t return.

Food was absolutely shocking and well below par, had their new beef lasagne and it was nothing but a bowl of liquid mush with cheese on top, absolutely disgusting, and the staff as miserable as sin, won't be staying at the Premier inn that ajoins it again.

Me and my boyfriend bought a pastry in the morning, and there was no sort of clear queue so we waited for a while slightly clueless. Then we got served, absolutely fine customer service at the time until we sat down on one of the tables and one of the ladies behind the counter came over and pretty much said to us “why are you sat down” and we both were extremely confused. She then proceeded to tell us that we had no right to sit there as we have to pay for it and that we were told up at the counter whilst paying. him and I just said back that we were never told, even on two separate occasions as we both ordered separately. She then proceeded to be rude, with not one slight notion of sympathy. Do not get the beef/steak pasty either.

We come every Friday for lunch. Great atmosphere, brilliant service and food is great. A fantastic spot for all occasions. We always see Jo and her customer service is excellent, always very attentive and will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

Love the ethos of this place, the staff are lovely and the food is superb. We tried Colombian arepa and the Argentinian empanadas, so tasty and lovely variety of salads on the side. Would definitely recommend

Friendly,convenient bar with good selection of drinks including Guinness Zero ( yay ! ) . Great fresh rolls.
