The best restaurants serving British food in West Midlands

Pre ordered 2 weeks ago for a party of 16. Upon arrival waited 50 minutes for food and it didn't all come out at once. My food was steak and it was tough with poor taste. A mandatory 10% service is fair if service is decent but it wasn't.

Great place, can be budget friendly if needed, equally the quality is there regardless of prices. Lovely staff! I did an Amazon delivery here a couple of weeks prior to this particular visit and could not walk away without having a pizza. Back then they understood that I was time "critical" without me saying anything. I just said "a pizza with meat" 8 minutes later I was out the door delivering again. On this occasion I was with a friend to eat in and we were looked after by a couple of lovely ladies and a great bloke. Had a chance to chat with the chef, nothing was too much, they obliged to all my odd requests. The pizza was amazing, the sweet chips well made and tasted delicious and the beers were well kept and pretty much spot on. The only place I'll be eating when in Warwick from now on. Thanks to all the staff there. On point!

We had a lovely breakfast. We were welcomed with tea and coffee on arrival. Our coffees were regularly replenished. The food came out promptly, piping hot and eggs cooked to perfection. It was a great start to my birthday

Travelling from Hayling Island / Chichester to Oldbury, Smethwick and back on the 1st Saturday of the New Year seems crazy, but it's the opening of a world class Photographic Exhibition, and "The Bell" is, great for Dinner on the way back south. Mind you had we known we were going to encounter so much SNOW we would have left earlier... But had a lovely meal and looked after sooo well by a lovely, left handed, Waitress. Remiss of me, but did not catch her name. Two pasta dishes and Sausage, Mash, Onion Gravy and greens were all great. And our favourite Affogato were first class. Hope to return before next January... Incredible food and service. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Tasting menu was fabulous, amazing flavours continuously served and no choosing required!

Booked the private room upstairs for a family birthday lunch. The food was delicious & service was excellent! Extra special fuss was made of birthday girl (decorations & candle on dessert!) Paying bill was really straight forward at end as they allowed us to set up separate tabs. A lovely afternoon had by all - wouldn’t hesitate to book again for a family occasion.

Yet again, a pleasant friendly atmosphere welcomes you here. Amazing food and a great selection of drinks to choose from. The manager Phoebe and her staff are amazing and nothing was too much!! Keep it up please, the service is exceptional 😀😀👍👍👍☕☕🫖🍸🍺

Although Church Street is is my nearest town I haven't been to the Kings Arms years, the last time it was a small typical drinkers pub. My wife and I had some time to kill after some last minute Christmas shopping and being aware that Jouel's brewery had bought the place we went there for a drink. An unbelievable transformation greeted us, fully extended incorporating some of the original outbuildings, sympathetically refurbished retraining the original character. Stone walls, rustic furniture, many alcoves, log burners, antique furniture etc etc. It has to be seen. Also there is a large covered outdoor area with a garden beyond. Enough of the transformation, extensive reasonably priced menu, local ales including their own Green Monkey craft lager, plenty of excellent staff, and a warm cozy atmosphere throughout.. Can't fault it 👏 👏 👏

This was our second visit to this perfect FreeHouse in a quaint street in Ledbury. The food is homemade and delicious, plenty of choice for all dietary needs. Highly recommend the homemade pies (inc veggie and gluten free options) and the sweet potato and chickpea curry. Just what we needed after rehearsing in a freezing cold church all afternoon. Thank you for making us so welcome and warming us up!

Just left after having plenty of lovely meals here in past, this will be the last visit. Bar area full however only one other table in the restaurant having food, service was extremely slow..we ended up leaving after waiting nearly 40mins for our mains to be cleared to order desert, waited 40 mins for the food to start with. We wouldn't mind when busy however, focus is on the bar only. Strong smelling substances clearly being used (greeted with this on the main entrance) here so very unpleasant for a family visit.

This is a lovely little café with very reasonably priced, generous portions, freshly cooked and (important for me) clearly labelled gluten free options and a kids menu with the simple options kids enjoy. All of us enjoyed our food and whilst the gluten free batter wasn't anything special, the fish was a generous portion and beautifully flavourful and well cooked so this was easily forgiven. The food isn't fancy but it's well done and tasty and doesn't cost a fortune, none if had any complaints. A great place to stop for lunch or brunch, I think the only thing that was a little tricky was fitting around the small tables but given its small size and popularity, you can see why the tables were small. We got there relatively early for our cooked lunch and were waiting about 20 minutes - reasonable as it's freshly cooked and I am gluten free - I think if it was really busy cooked food might take longer? Worth it though.

Me and 2 friends had boxing day dinner today the boiled potatoes where hard the sprouts where not done gravy not very nice I could go on about the food all in all not worth the money. We where not offered the mulled wine or the mince pies and not enough brandy sauce I the pudding.

Fantastic independent pub with friendly staff, warm fires, fabulous food and cocktails 🍸 Garden in the summer, real fires in the winter. Did I mention, the best Sunday roast ever, with great Vegan options 😋

We live just down the road, but never tried this place before. Pretty on the outside but modern style interior. Looks more like a restaurant / cafe inside. The room was spacious and warm, we were greeted immediately on arrival and well looked after throughout. We all enjoyed different traditional meals. I rate this as 5 stars overall but would just say don’t expect a traditional olde world atmosphere - if you can understand this then you will not be disappointed in the food or service - for the very reasonable cost.
