Visited the cafe , Very good coffee, lovely and strong. Enjoyed our food too, tea cakes and a bacon sandwich, all very nice. The lady in charge was very friendly. A good experience will return. Plenty of antiques to look at spread over many rooms, good to gave a good look around..

Anniversary meal with friends , went last year and had issues but thought we would try once more, as we’ve used it for years under Peter and Wendy’s ownership , sad to say this visit wasn’t any better than the last one. Boiler broken so place was freezing , I had to take my jumper off and lend it to my older friend as he was freezing , of the two expensive fillet steaks we had one was cooked wrong , same with one of the two sirloin steaks we had , thrice cooked chips didn’t really exist either , twice at best , made staff aware but no real feedback given back etc , very disappointed really when we spent well over £240 between the 4 of us , anyway , if the weather is cold outside ring and check their heating is working as we were frozen ! !

We had a meal for 6. It was ready to be collected on time. We had 5 fish & 1 burger, we also had some chips, mushy peas and onion rings. All of it was absolutely gorgeous. Excellent service & food. I can't rate the experience too highly. We would 100% do it again.ill health made me have a takeaway but I can't wait to be well enough to eat in the restaurant as well. Thank you.

Wonderful visit today, such a warm welcome from everyone, so much so a friend I brought along thought they knew us! The food was exceptional, fantastic quality and proper portions. As good a lunch as I have enjoyed in many a visit to Country style pubs. All round excellent visit and one for a return in tbe future and I'm already looking forward to it!

A wonderful meal served by wonderful and kind staff, nothing too much trouble well worth a visit. Well done to all staff.

Stopped for a quick snack, lovely place, clean and very friendly. Had a lovely well filled sausage and egg breadcake, with a cup of tea, can sit in or out. Unfortunately its take way only at the moment but either way highly recommended

Me and my 3 sisters came here today for lunch and to get together for my birthday. Had a lovely lunch as always 😋 been going to Cannon Hall for quite a few years now and got to know the staff. Vicky who is the manager who's so lovely saw my cards and told her it's my birthday tomorrow. As we was nearly ready for leaving Vicky and staff came over with a piece of cake with a candle in and sang happy birthday SUSAN. I was so overwhelmed 😭 thank you so much Vicky and staff for a beautiful day. And not forgetting my beautiful sister's aswell. Much love to you all xxxxxxx ❤️

I attended a festive dinner dance, with a group of friends, looking for a good catch up and some fun and food. It was a 3 course meal and disco. None of us were really impressed with the starters, I had prawn cocktail, (too heavy on the iceberg lettuce and tasteless)and my husband’s spring roll was luke warm, similar grumbles all round. However, all the main meals were delicious, as were desserts. The service was friendly and efficient and the restaurant was festive and fun. My only real gripe was the music, which was so loud throughout the meal, that we couldn’t catch up. I like background music, but this was way too loud, unnecessarily so and it spoilt the evening for all of us.

We booked the Spencer Arms after visit to the near by Yorkshire Sculpture Park, our welcome was pretty flat, initially sat next to the main door and route through to the bar - requested to be moved to a better placed table which was granted after a few huffs & puffs… Service was pleasant though pretty basic, no check backs on food upselling of sides, starters or coffees etc, some staff training on this would benefit all. The real star of the Show was the food, Fish & Chips served w curry sauce and mushy pies were some of the Best I’d ever had, the steak sandwich w fries was equally impressive, we didn’t order desserts as the portion of the small Fish & Chip was plentiful. It’s unfortunate when the quality of the food outweighs the quality of the service provided, though you find this happens more and more…would I return again - absolutely the food we had was delicious.

We recently celebrated my sister's Birthday here and it was excellent! Great service, great food, great atmosphere and great value for money too. We were able to decorate the area which made it feel extra special, and even got a Birthday cake 'on the house'. A huge Thank You to Paul and his team for making it such a special occasion, we will definitely be coming back!

lovely country pub. very friendly staff. very good selection of drinks. fantastic views over the country side. only downside, car park is up a steep hill.

Stayed over night in the truck...good food and amazing views...what's not to like...chicken burger is excellent... top fella too...

The food is amazing and the staff cant do enough for you. We try to come 2 times a month. Keep up the good work
