The best restaurants serving British food in Guildhall York Yorkshire and The Humber

We visited as a group of 12 couples, pre ordered with 2 courses each. It was absolutely perfect! Great service, good timings and food was top quality. I had salmon starter and pumpkin risotto and the portion sizes were perfect and it was all so so tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant for groups, dates or with friends & family as it’s got something for everyone and such a good atmosphere. 10/10. Amazing wine as well. We had The Stump Jump Shiraz :) Thanks for having us!

Vinimos a almorzar tarde y compartimos un camembert entre los dos. Absolutamente delicioso, el chutney con el que se sirvió fue genial, y las cebollas crujientes fueron increíblemente bien. Fantástica selección de queso para comprar (algunos que nunca he visto antes) , para las personas que buscan hacer más que tomar un bocado para comer, y nos encantó la decoración - especialmente los giros divertidos de los propietarios en las pinturas tradicionales! El dueño de la tienda era increíblemente amable y acogedor. Sin duda volveremos cuando volvamos a York, y recomendaremos este lugar a cualquiera que conozcamos que se dirija hacia aquí. ¡Gracias!

Called in here just before Xmas - coffee was perfect! If you like your coffee, this is the place to go. We also sampled the fruit cake - equally delicious. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

Tried our luck in this bar, post Christmas rush and there were seats available which can be an issue at busy times. The food and drinks were excellent, the atmosphere is superb, if you’re looking for something different, here it is, and it’s not overpriced either.

PERFECTION. We went for Sunday Lunch. We arrived half an hour early but were made welcome. The food was exquisite with unique tastes and combinations of flavours BUT sensible quantities. And a very reasonable price given the quality.

Me and my mum stopped by after a concert in York centre and we got literally the best chips ever - genuinely so delicious! The guy who served us was absolutely lovely - big shout out to whoever was working at 7pm ish sat 14th December - he was so helpful and kind. And again, the food was amazing (and very reasonably priced).

Stumbled across the hall while completing the York Cat Hunt. Highly recommend popping in 1) to see the hall 2) to have a lovely cuppa and a sit down.

Fantastic little place if you can get a table. Brilliant ‘Laptop free’ policy. Great Dirty Chai Latte. Didn’t have time for a sausage roll but they look great.

We came here for my daughters birthday weekend when we went to York from Manchester . The food was really well presented . My husband had the steak pie and it was full of steak, it was amazing !

On a visit to York last Saturday we decided to try Drakes as we'd read the reviews, which were good. Yes, it was busy due to the Christmas market but the service was so very slow. We were told once we'd ordered that the meal would be a while but we didn't expect such a long wait like we had. One poor couple even had their order forgotten so they had to wait even longer and without their drinks. The food was nice but nothing out of the ordinary. We would eat here again but not when it's so busy as they can't seem to cope too well. We were also overcharged so I think the servers were having a tough time of it that day.

Yani was so helpful. We came for a business Christmas meal and he was so accommodating, thank you, we really enjoyed our time!

Have a singer on Wednesday to Sunday we visited on the Saturday and sunday evening the Saturday was great atmosphere and was busy the Sunday was flat as no one in felt a little sorry for the singer as only a few people in but was the second Sunday in the new year. Good beer selection and would recommend

I would say this is British French Fusion restaurant. The food quality we had was good and prices were reasonable. Service was on the slow side.
