Drinks in the cosy bar with a log fire before a delicious Sunday lunch with friends. The food was amazing and beautifully presented. We really enjoyed the pulled pork tacos and tempura black pudding with apple sauce starters followed by chicken schnitzel and crab risotto with crispy skin sea bass. Really interesting menu, the service was great and the prices were reasonable. It was our first visit but we will definitely be back soon.

Overpriced for the quality of the food. Pie resembled a scotch pie you get from Greggs (albeit with better quality meat) vs traditional pub pie. We also had the salmon which was tough and calamari was chewy. Staff were attentive and could tell we were not happy so discounted the bill.

We stayed on Hogmanay in the motorhome aire (which is just £10 and great) and joined the Hogmanay celebrations at The Barn. I have to say that it was the loveliest and most welcoming place and we had such a lovely time, great food, live music and great atmosphere. We also came back for breakfast which was also excellent. I suspect that this may be our new go to place for New Year (but don't tell everyone!). Loved it, thank you for being such a fab place.

I quite enjoyed my visit the other day. However, I got the impression that the museum was tired, the display cluttered and the curators trying their best to show off as much as they could. Personally I think that yiu need a larger building to house even what is on display in. On a side note, if you need a new curator, I'd be happy to take on the challenge :)

Went in for breakfast. The staff were more interested in taking down the Xmas tree. Waited over half hour to be served, it wasn’t even busy only five tables occupied. Asked if they did a kids breakfast menu, only a short stack of pancakes ( which was to big for a toddler) The coffee arrived now into forty five minutes and by the time the food came was needing another coffee. The two full breakfasts came and although it was well cooked and presented in a frying pan, with burger wrapping paper that was soggy.so when you cut up your food the paper was coming away as well. The serving of the baked beans was well a tablespoon in a shallow butter dish. The frying pan idea is quirky but a plate would have been just as pleasant. Quite dissatisfying. Twenty three pence short of fifty pounds. No whipped butter for the pancakes. A pot of syrup and a pot of cream. Sprinkled with icing sugar.

Great little hotel in Glencarsie, very close the the Byrne Inchyra wedding venue (5 min walk), perfect if you are attending an event there, as then you don’t have to worry about trying to sort a taxi late night! Rooms were warm, very clean & modern, shower water pressure was great. Breakfast was included and very good! There’s also a bar here, which is great for having a drinks with friends before walking over to the wedding venue. Bus to Edinburgh airport is a 10 min walk away as well, so very convenient location. Absolutely recommend this place!

Hands down the best restaurant in Stirling. Eaten here many times and the produce they use is the best around and the combination of flavours is the most innovative. You wait a wee bit longer but that’s the nature of fresh cooked food! Those that don’t understand this clearly eat in restaurants who use bought in meals & microwave food! And it does cost a bit more but again - that’s the cost of fresh ingredients and good chefs to cook it. The range of Scottish drinks and also organic drinks on offer at Brea must be hard to beat at any restaurant I can think of visiting in Scotland, let alone Stirling. If you’ve been thinking of trying Brea - don’t wait!
