The best restaurants serving Chinese food in East Riding of Yorkshire Yorkshire and The Humber

Yips stands out as one of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever visited and I've been eating Chinese since 1963. We had one of the set banquet offers and it was just perfect from start to finish. Portion sizes are worringly large. Service was professional without being too formal and the ambience and decor were modern, bright and clean.

Saturday lunchtime visit. Staff helpful but seemed a bit awkward with themselves, maybe on a trial shift? There was a wedding on next door so maybe they had been drafted in to help just for the day. Anyway, wines pleasant….as are the surroundings. I like the fact they automatically give you bottles of tap water too without having to ask. Unfortunately food was not great. We had steak (very hard to cut & chewy, despite being filet) with fries (undercooked) and chimichurri sauce (VERY badly made. Just a tasteless oil slick and I normally love chimichurri) £180 for 2 of us for lunch.

Teníamos la impresión de que era un buen restaurante y no revisamos las críticas. Recogimos una comida para llevar que estaba listo en unos 5 minutos, que fue bastante rápido. Una vez en casa, mi chow mein se veía bien hasta que elegí el primer tenedor y un montón de fideos se levantaron juntos. No esperaba nada inusual así que me lo comí. Me di cuenta de que los fideos estaban quemados, pegados y cocidos o no. No estoy seguro. Noté el olor extraño y el sabor desagradable entonces. Entonces noté aceite en mi paladar y boca. Además de quemado y seco parecía haber mucho aceite. Básicamente no comestible y se fue a la papelera. Mi compañera siguió adelante con su curry vegetal y arroz que sabía a desagües y llegó a la mitad antes de binning. Sufrió una enfermedad al día siguiente, pero dijo que salió más fácil de lo que cayó. Muy decepcionante y tendría que no recomendar

Excellent food and service not cheap but worth it. Very busy almost full on the 4th of January ! Even after Christmas and New year people still want to go out on a very cold evening for nice food and ambiance .

Absolutamente asqueroso tiene carne de res chow mein tiene 2 pedazos de carne de res sin sabor nunca pida de nuevo sal y pimienta chips asqueroso y carne de curry ares la carne de res

Not been here for a while as we no longer live close by, called in and greeted by the lovely Chai like a long lost friend. Banquet meal, excellent fresh tasty and delicious. had to ask for and no problem at all for a doggy bag as the food was so plentiful. Topped off with a great pint of Landlord, we will be back!!

First time in this restaurant although I have lived in Hornsea many years. The staff were amazing and looked after our every need. Food was amazing. We had a really relaxing night. Would definitely recommend 👌

Just wanted a quick meal so popped to local takeaway. Great welcome and quick service but disappointing meal. Chicken with ginger and spring onions was a pile of chopped ordinary onions and huge chunks of ginger instead of fine slices and a few pieces of chicken. Ordinary fried rice was just rice mixed with loads of soy sauce, just a bowl of brown mess. Pancake roll was ok but no better than those available at Aldi. Not great.

We go here consistently, maybe once a month or every 6 weeks for a family treat. Usually lacking in flavour, but it's ok and local to us.

Tried twice in the last month after avoiding for a few years. Both times the meals were excellent, the staff friendly and helpful. It’s so nice to have a good local Chinese again. The only slight criticism is that rice and chips are not included, making it a bit more pricey than our usual. (The quality makes up for it though)

Always good food, great choice and generous portions, I'm not sure if there has been a change in management the last year or so. Historically we had a few less takeaways which were lacking. But the last 18 months or so we have never been disappointed

We are regulars for the buffet, £22 per adult and £10 per child. You order from the menu, and everything is cooked fresh. The mixed appetisers are good to start with. Then the roast duck, more chicken sesame toast, and spring rolls. Spare ribs, and special fu yung. Great value for money, as long as you have an appetite. Staff are very Friendly and attentitive. It's our best chinese restaurant in the whole of Yorkshire. 10 out of 10 from us. Will be returning soon. Advisable to book.

After trying all the Chinese takeaways in goole we have found that lotus is definitely the best. The food is delicious and always hot. And the staff are very friendly

Takeaway absolutely brilliant service food amazing

Spent £60 for a takeaway. Tubs of food was small and not full. Food was tasteless and cold. Waited nearly an hour. I wouldn't recommend sorry absolutely gutted spent £60 and it was rubbish
