The best restaurants serving Fast food food in West Midlands

Ordered a chinese from here last night (1/1/25) and to say I’m disappointed is a very big understatement. I spent £62.10 to feed 3 people and my mother in law and partner ended up with food poisoning, my partner is very ill today and is struggling. The meat was very dry, nothing seemed to be cooked from fresh apart from the chicken fried rice and the chicken and sweetcorn soup. I will not be ordering from here again and I definitely would not recommend this place. My advice is to stay clear of it.

Ordered from here for the first time, called them because I had some specifics for my order and they were really helpful and considerate to what I wanted! Really appreciated since I’m unwell. Would order again for some chips and grilled chicken. Thanks

Friendly staff, clean shop, good prices and most of all the food is consistently fantastic. The chip shop that I used for many years seem to be getting worse and worse, I randomly stopped here one day a few months ago and am hooked. The fish is done perfectly, foods always nice and hot. The burgers are tasty and good meat not loads of gristle, and the highlight for me is the mixed kebab meat in a tray with salad. The doner meat is exactly how it should be and the chicken kebab meat is beautiful, fantastic tasting succulent chunks with a nice blend of flavours cooked to perfection and not burnt like others. The boss is a genuinely nice man and he should be proud of himself and his hardworking staff. Keep it up.

Great fish and chips. The fish was very fishy, likewise the chips were very chippy, from this chippy. I had curry sauce and dipped my chips in several times. Although you could have a different condiment if you are not in the mood for curry sauce. However on that particular Tuesday, I was.

We had great service polite the food was hot fresh and very tasty my husband especially loved the southern fried chicken better than kfc and my fish was delicious certainly be back for more highly recommend great price for the high quality

I have been ordering there for a few months now, the quality of the food is excellent, what I have a problem with is the time it takes to be delivered. When placing an order the waiting time is about an hour but with time it increases sometimes even to 2 hours

I recently dined at The Mermaid and, unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The timing of the mains was completely off—there was a 10-minute gap between the arrival of our dishes, which made the meal feel disjointed. To make matters worse, the dish that was supposed to come with hollandaise sauce arrived without it. When the sauce was finally brought out, it was far from what a good hollandaise should be—lacking the rich, creamy texture and flavor that I was expecting. Overall, the meal was not up to par, and I would hesitate to return.

I never normally leave reviews, however in this instance I feel I should for the sake of 'the staff' which I feel are unfortunate to work there. Just take some time to read the 'genuine' reviews on this page. You can see the number of people who have taken the time to leave negative comments and are amazed by how 'rude' the owner is. The food is nothing to write home about, there are far better chip shops in the local area in my opinion - avoid
