The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving French food

A different time, a different day but always assured of delicious flavours from quality ingredients. Today's special delight was a fig and pistachio tart that frankly tastes even better than it looks, and it looks great. Continuity is always a sign of a good eatery but when you appreciate the chef is creating recipes from love, rest assured you are in food nirvana. Having dined here since it opened I am always amazed at how they maintain and even improve on quality and taste. If in any doubt, try their duck confit sandwich where even the rolls are made in-house. You will leave with a radiant smile on your face. Just had dinner here again; Raclette Arancini followed by Duck in cherry sauce and gratin dauphinoise. I can only describe this as an award winning meal. It will have your taste buds dancing for a week. The truffle arancini are still excellent as is the burger with green pepper sauce.

Been going to Jas Jas jas for many years on many occasions with my family and many friends as it's probably the ultimate lunch restaurant in Cheadle and beyond. Gets my vote for making the tastiest food anywhere and all at a very reasonable price. Sadly not open in the evenings. You'd do well to book & eat there.

The 8 course Indian Tapas Evening exceeded expectations; the food was outstanding as was the service. We’ll definitely be booking again! Thank you to everyone involved 👍

Oh I just love this place! We went last night for a Bastille dinner. The food was spectacular, I had a vegetarian Wellington which was absolutely delicious, except it was enormous,covered nearly two thirds of the plate and I felt guilty leaving some. My husband had a steak which was perfectly cooked. This place has a fantastic atmosphere. Small but perfectly formed and buzzing with happy conversation. Thank you Anita Claire for another great meal and evening.

A bistro where food is prepped downstairs with a couple of tables and has around a further 6 tables upstairs. Upstairs has dark green walls and low lighting. Its all hard surfaces so it can get pretty noisy up there. Seats are firm -ish basic but fine Food is nice perhaps a little higher priced than some. For example Onion soup is £10 and a nice entrecote steak and simple chips is £30. Service is fine it appears to be a husband and wife type deal who are both professional and nice to deal with It is popular currently so do book, its certainly worth a try. The food is nice My takeaway was it was just too noisy when full. There are no soft absorbent surfaces to absorb the sound and i wanted to get out of there after having eaten, maybe thats the idea!

Not many places I’d describe as exceptional, but this restaurant truly is. The food is outstanding, as is the service. Been there a few times and will keep on returning. My fellow diners were of the same opinion, every dish was delicious. Thanks to Pey and the team for another wonderful experience

The most relaxing dining in the wonderful eclectic home of chef Kerry and front of house Paul. The food is outstanding, beautifully presented with delightful flavours. There is true passion in every dish with the added bonus of fresh grown produce from their garden. A must visit whenever in the area

We went for our pre-wedding dinner in December (just the two of us) and had a great experience! The dishes prepared by Brian were absolutely beautiful and Glen was attentive with great knowledge of wine (went for wine pairing and highly recommend it) and good amount of stories to share about their origin-which was great to listen to! Highly recommend the format (intimate) and to try the amazing food! Ah! AND PS. espresso at the end was top notch- something that you get hardly ever in the restaurant.

We visited the Hidden Chef last night as we wanted to enjoy the experience one last time, and to support Dean and Co in their last weekend at the Brasserie. Once again the food was exceptional and the atmosphere friendly and welcome. We will miss having this wonderful restaurant on our door step but are delighted that we will be able to savour Deans delights from the Deli. We had the 3 course Sunday lunch, served by our lovely waiter Sebastian. The food was fab & the service was excellent. The baileys tiramisu was to die for. We’ll be back soon.

More than a novelty.. Somewhere to ovsit take in the view and warm up! These experiences make travel what it should be. Random food like French biscuits and cassoulet!
